9 lies of the modern church

THE NINE LIES OF TODAY’S CHURCH

-by Andrew Strom.

-A call for massive ‘Reformation’ – before it is too late.

It is a sad fact that today’s church is deceiving itself in some very crucial areas. Below are some plain facts (-absolutely true) that may shock a few people:

1. “Ask Jesus into our heart” is not in the Bible. Neither is “Give your heart to the Lord”, or repeating a “sinner’s prayer”. These practices do not exist in Scripture at all. The subject of salvation is the most important subject in the Bible and we are being lied to about it. These doctrines are a total fabrication. They were invented to make salvation “quick and convenient”. Many church members today who are relying on these things are clearly not ‘saved’ at all.

2. Church buildings do not exist in the Bible. They were invented around 200-300 AD, when the church was in serious decline. Only a backslidden church could fall so far away from the simplicity of the early church. Church buildings are anti-New Testament, and bring with them a host of problems and traditions. It was basically when the church fell into the hands of Rome that this concept of the “cathedral” really took over. And we are still spending millions on these monuments today.

3. The “one pastor runs everything” model is totally unscriptural. Far from running everything, in the book of Acts we find the word “pastor” NOT EVEN USED ONCE. (-The early church did have strong leaders and elders. But it was never a “one man band” like we see today. And never was it so “controlling” either).

4. “Tithing” is not a New Testament practice at all. And it is being shamefully abused by today’s preachers. In the New Testament we are told to give cheerfully – whatever we purpose in our hearts to give. Telling people that they MUST give 10% to the church or they are “robbing God” is totally sick – and a money-grubbing way of twisting Scripture. There is no evidence that the apostles EVER preached ‘tithing’ to New Testament believers. It was clearly regarded as an Old Testament practice.

5. The words “prosper” or ‘prosperity’ were NEVER used by Jesus at all – and only exist a couple of times in the entire New Testament. Yet greedy preachers have built whole kingdoms upon them. The words – “sell what you have and give to the poor” and “deceitfulness of riches” and “you cannot serve God and mammon” and “woe to you that are rich” were DEFINITELY used by Jesus and the apostles. But we don’t hear these things preached too much, do we?

6. There were no Bible Colleges, Seminaries or degrees in the New Testament. The only people who seemed to have “Bible Schools” were the Scribes and Pharisees! The apostles were simple fishermen and tax collectors. It is likely that a number of them could not even read or write. What was their “qualification” for being in the ministry? Simply that they had SPENT A LOT OF TIME WITH JESUS. The fact that people expect a “professional clergy” today with degrees from Bible College has helped to make the church sicker and more unscriptural than ever. Simple humble people with a calling from God often cannot get to minister because they do not have a “piece of paper” to make them ‘qualified’. -Yet another disaster for the church.

7. There is almost no evidence whatsoever that the early church had their “main meeting” on a Sunday. They gathered together ‘from house to house’ virtually every day! There were no church buildings. They did not dress up and “go to church”. There were no denominations. There were no separate groups with different ‘labels’. They lived their lives together – all the Christians in the local area. Love and fellowship and ‘koinonia’ were as natural to them as breathing. And the apostles in Jerusalem preached every day at huge open-air gatherings. -Not “hidden away” inside four walls. This was truly a “street church” in every way.

8. The idea that you can replace the moving of the Holy Spirit with programs, programs and more programs just shows how low we have sunk. Man-made programs are everywhere today. The early church had much more of God and much less of ‘man’.

9. We preach a ‘humanistic’ Jesus today. -A Jesus who exists mainly for our own “happiness”. A Santa Claus who wants to rain down continual blessings upon us. A God of grace and mercy without judgement, righteousness or truth. Our gross misrepresentation of who Jesus really is, is one of the most serious offenses of the modern church. Today’s church seems to worship a “plastic” Jesus – one that she has made in her own image. What an offense to God.

A lot of preachers are well aware that there is something very wrong with the church today. They know there is little ‘fear of the Lord’. They know there is no deep repentance or deep moving of the Holy Spirit. They know that it is just the same old “game” being played every week. A lot of them are very aware of this. But they will not do anything about it. They will not rock the boat. And they will “squash” anyone who comes along trying to do something. They do not want a real “shaking”. There is too much to lose. They have their careers and their little ‘kingdoms’ at stake. This is the real truth of the matter. This is where the rubber truly meets the road.

That is why God is about to bring “Great Reformation”. He will not put up with these ‘hirelings’ any longer. He will not have them as leaders over His people. A lot of them are about to “lose their heads”. They will never lead God’s people again.

This is what true ‘Reformation’ is all about. It is the process of replacing the old leadership and the old lies. -It is David taking over from ‘Saul’.

There is a ‘New Wineskin’ coming. In fact it is upon us. There is a new leadership arising – many of them trained in the ‘wilderness’ for such a time as this. The hour is now here. LET THE NEW LEADERS ARISE! The sad fact is that today’s church has sunk so low that it is almost a matter of people needing to be RESCUED OUT OF HER. I never thought I would say something as radical as that, but it is the truth.

Much of the church is living a lie. Many inside her are told continuously that they are “OK” – that they are saved and headed for heaven. Nothing could be further from the truth. Multitudes of them are headed directly for hell. The systemized LYING that is going on has deceived the leaders and the people alike. It is the blind leading the blind. We need to contend for these people – desperately. Much of the church is “lost”. They are mired in deception – an entire system of deception.

Kindest regards in Christ,

Andrew Strom.

  1. it is true about giving your hear to jesus is a false gospel; they preach another jesus

    • Thanks to whoever deleted my post. Thanks for showing me how brainwashed this little churchy group is, that you cant even attempt to argue your points against my posting, instead just delete the post and go back to your paganised BS religion.

      • Your posts were deleted because you make accusations of anti Semitism and I don’t like the tone of your latest comments, i.e. they are rude and insulting.

I approved your first post didn’t I so I have no problem leaving opposing views on the site.

  2. God’s been burning the same sentiment in my heart over the past couple years. I agree with everything you’re saying and would add that we need to also give unto ceasar what is ceasars especially now that the irs is going to begin “listening in” on sermons.

    Let’s start a gathering.

  3. Thank you for writing this, I’m from Australia and I for the past few months been having my whole mindset changed on who Jesus is and what ‘listening to Jesus’ really is. I left the church, because of some terrible thing that happened in that particular church and I have been going to a couple every now and then but something just hasn’t been sitting right with me at all when I’m there, it no longer feels real, and for ages I felt guilty because I wasn’t going to church and because of that I was dishonouring Jesus but now Jesus has been showing me that what I once belibeved about church really isn’t what it is to know Him and to follow him. My whole world was consumed in church, and it became my identity but then that was ripped from me and I felt this hole inside and it’s made me realise that I had placed every part of me into something man made, and not in Jesus alone. And so now I’m on this journey with just Jesus and listening to Jesus and what He says :) thanks again for that post!

    Warm regards
    Jessica

  4. All the churches world wide are dead and Satan is ruling them as we speak. The corporate churches was dead by 100AD; We can see in book of Galatians, only 30 years after Christs demonstration of his salvation the church already had another Gospel (false). Their pastors and preachers are actually Satan ministers of righteous. Babylon represents the world. The Great whore is all the Churches and congregations that is sitting on the beast and means they are teaching and resting in false doctrines (such as save me lord prayer you mentioned). There will be no great revival as everyone speaks of but instead only those who sins were paid for before the foundation of the world will be gathered to Christ in the end. history repeats itself as quoted in book of Ecc. Just as the Nation of Israel, a stiff necked people were a complete failure from the moment they left Egypt (except a very few believers) so is the church age. How ironic that all the Jews thought they were saved because they were Jewish in the flesh and all the churches think they are saved because they are a church member in the flesh. But as the bible teaches that all flesh will return to the grave. God does all the work from beginning to end, hence God get all the Glory from beginning to end. Re 22:13 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.

  5. Ajtony don’t know if you still follow this blog but I came across this blog, for my wife and I are struggling with our church (building) I am an elder there and have come home from the elders meetings depressed for years my sons have left the organize church yet they are believers one is a very strong believer in fact he has a community that he belongs to that serves and of course there’s no building involved except their home I have been involved in church all of my life 57 years have a bachelors in theology have been involved in missions and was a missionary for a year but I am struggling severely at this time and have asked hard questions of myself and of God my wife is at peace for she has stopped attending our local church. you say you were called out of the organized church how did that come about were you called to a different ministrydid someone encourage you at this time I do not have anyone to talk to other than a minister that just resigned from our church who was beginning to feel the same way but now is involved back in another church he encourages me not to quit at this time that is the only encouragement I have received I meet with other ministers but feel they don’t understand I feel that no one understands me at this time I have even considered maybe I am depressed so I would be encouraged by your response for where God is leading you thank you

    • m4jmyers, I can only reiterate what I feel the Lord did with me and so I will give you a summary and then my own thoughts.

The things you have described, being an elder, bachelors in theology, missions, missionary all point to your works to try and serve God and that was what I was trying to do. This is because we are taught that this is what we should do but many times we are manipulated and ‘bullied’ to serve churches and church leaders and this led my to frustration!

My wife and I both felt that the Lord was calling us out of organised religion. We just felt in our spirits that it was time to leave and although we resisted for a while we eventually did leave. We did so in a nice way, saying our goodbyes and thanking everyone for their help and friendship. The friendship thing was obviously not real because I can say that only 2 people from the church ever made contact with us again (just once to try and get us back). This confirmed to us that we had made the right decision and we felt at peace about it. We opened up our house to anyone who wanted to come to ‘house church’ and people and youngsters did come. We were so entrenched in the deceptions of religion however that we were still doing the ‘stuff’ we had been taught in the ‘church’ and it took years to free ourselves from that.

We moved house a few years later to a different country (that was a god thing too!) where we knew nobody and searched for a church were we felt comfortable. We still had the feeling (and still do) of wanting to belong but we couldn’t find a church that wasn’t following the deceptions taught today, especially by the TV evangelists.

So, we don’t go to church now and we don’t ‘do church’ in the house. You see, we are the ‘church’, the ecclesia, the ‘called out ones’. The Lord calls out his chosen ones and if you feel His call you must obey Him. You don’t have to do anything!! Jesus has done it all!! All you have to do is to trust in Him and do not be polluted by the world. It doesn’t mean you will have a quiet, peaceful, easy life because we have both suffered from ill health. It is also a lonely life because we just do not fit in anywhere. But that is OK with me because we are only here temporarily and our future is with Jesus in the celestial realm. Look upwards because Jesus is coming soon for His chosen ones. Be thankful! Stop trying to ‘do things’ for God! He doesn’t need your help! Simply rejoice in what Jesus has done for the world and rejoice that you are one of his chosen. If God wants you to do something He is quite capable of telling you!!

Ask the Lord to remove the scales from your eyes so you can see the truth. If you have been through college and studied theology your head will be full of the deceptive teachings of men and you need to free yourself from that and start studying the Bible for yourself. Also most of the Bible translations contain errors and falsehoods! I recommend the Concordant Literal Translation (there is a link on my blog).

If you are one of the Lord’s chosen, He will deal with you as He sees fit. I don’t know what He will do. I do know however, that the ‘christian’ message as taught today is incorrect and comes from men not God. Works ministry, Eternal punishment, the damnation of the unbeliever, Hell, are subjects you need to study for yourself and the Lord may or may not reveal His truth to you.

Do not rely on men to give you encouragement. They may mean well but you have to listen to the Lord, in his Word, in your spirit and in your circumstances. I hope this helps. Love in Jesus, AJtony

  6. Nice to see your aware of a lot of the lies. You will have to rid yourself of the “hell” doctrine as well though. There is much to be unlearned because of the conditioning and traditions that were heaped upon us. Enjoy your journey. :-)

    • yes, the hell doctrine has confused Christians. Hell means grave

      • You are correct that hell means the grave. The same work in the KJV is used 31 times for hell and 31 times for grave and 3 times for pit. When your dead your dead. it is a club the churches have use to merchandise its lost children into the grave

      • Hell is used in the NT in place of Hades(greek mythology) as well as She’ol. The Hebrew understanding of She’ol is that thats where you go when you die, regardless of your adherence to Gods laws on righteousness. She’ol is where we sleep until judgement by YHVH.
So basicly the church has turned a rest room into pain and suffering for ever if you dont play their foolish games.

The BIGGEST LIE from the church is that the law is annulled.
1John 3:4 Whoever commits sin also commits lawlessness, and sin is lawlessness(Whoever commits sin also commits lawlessness, and sin is lawlessness = (anomia) –

        1) the condition of without law (Torah)

        a)because ignorant of it

        b)because of violating it

2)contempt and violation of law, iniquity, wickedness

  7. I am no theologian, nor do I have any position in church. your blog spoke to me so I share this with you in the hope you may find it useful. I believe God showed me this, but I could be wrong.

I tried to produce a management type flow chart to show what I am about to explain, and found I could do it. I could produce a top down flow chart for a traditional management system but I could not produce a graphic to explain this proposal. Having thought about it I think that it may need to stay that way.
In the bible, it does not go into much detail on the mechanism for the running of a church. I suspect that God knows we would do it in slightly different ways, and to firmly fix a pattern on people would be wrong.
So let’s start at what I do know, the elders are chosen. The process is not difficult; they must fit the criteria laid down in scripture: Titus 1 v5 to 9 covers it. To help choose, prayer and fasting must be part of this process: acts 14v23. I think Elders almost pick themselves. The criterion is so hard to meet that I suspect there would not be many candidates. Prayer and fasting is to help reveal any hidden character faults that are relevant, surprisingly I have tested this part and it works.
The number of Elders is not stated, with the criteria being at such a high standard, I don’t think there would be many. So I suggest that all who fit can be elders. One of the points of this I think, is that the role of Elder cannot be attained by effort, or desire, or even by manipulation or favoritism. Everyone can see who the Elders are and everyone can judge each spirit. I think it has to be that open.
It is in effect, the only way an Elder can be made is that God makes them; all we have to do is find them and appoint them. It does not require a degree or a high level of education. So none can say I did it. I can think of nothing from the world’s way of judging these things that is relevant in any way at all. But neither having these disqualifies them. It is just not relevant to the decision.
The statement I just made that God makes elders, is based on the attributes that an elder must have. I cannot see how any kind of training I’ve heard of could produce this result. The attributes have to be part of what an elder is. He will not have to strive to achieve them, they would be second nature to him; It would be like breathing he wouldn’t know he is doing it. The only way I can think of acquiring these talents would be to inherit them. Therefore way out of man’s direct control, and a good thing too.
The Elders are to manage the church: Titus 1v7. Some churches might want to make a senior Elder; I do not find this in scripture. As far as I can see all Elders carry the same authority and there is no position over them. Rather than say authority, it is better to use the word responsibility because that is what it really is. To fulfill this role is a huge responsibility, one that would terrify me, but that’s ok I’m not an elder.
Each Elder may have other talents, and when these are called on, that may elevate them for a while. But only in this respect, their responsibility would increase in that area. As you can see there is only responsibility in this, and not much glory or position.
What of Pastor or leaders, in the way we usually think there are none. Many of these are just names, and we put many ideas too names. One of the complaints I have heard from a number of Pastors is that they are overworked. God creates Pastors, I would like for the purposes of clarity to refer to this ministry as shepherd. We have all met shepherds, as with all gift ministries they are created by God. Some Elders may also be shepherds. God provides, in any congregation, I believe God will provide shepherds. We need to recognize them and encourage them, also use them, that their gifting will benefit all. But, and I think this is important, there is no position of pastor or shepherd, you are one or you are not one. Therefore because there is no position, like Elders you can have as many as God gives you, all can be used.
The ministry of shepherd can be used in this way, house groups are in my opinion vital to the healthy growth of an individual. A shepherd might be put in each house group, but not to run it, just to shepherd it and look after it and those in it, and allow it to grow as God ordains. Some house groups might fail and that has to be allowed to happen and be acknowledged.
Again as with Elders although the qualification is not so harsh the responsibility is as large. Jesus is the good shepherd: John 10v11 onwards, describes his responsibilities. That is the pattern shepherds must look too. A difficult ministry to live up too indeed.
The other gift ministries all follow a similar pattern, because there is no position only responsibilities any church can have as many of each as God provides. Therefore dealing with the overworked pastor syndrome. There will literally be many hands to make light work.
Paid positions, the elders have to decide themselves if there are any full time roles. They are the managers of the church. Because we have in the past elevated a single person to, as it were, rule over us. We are used to the position of pastor as a full time paid position. Because the true position is, that God rules over us, that is not the case. Personally in a small church I would expect the admin roles to be paid first. In the past the pastor has done this, I think a miss use of a gift ministry. But this is only a personnel view. The Elders decide these things; in different countries the answer may be different, and the Elders would reflect this cultural difference. Therefore leave it to the Elders to work out the best way forward.
As can be seen it is up to the elders under Gods leadership to define each church, to in effect respond to local needs with Gods guidance. Which should start to release everyone to fulfill their individual ministry. One more thing, this is not an Idea or a new plan, It’s laid down in scripture, and therefore will work. None of these roles can be accomplished in the usual way, which is training ext. This is a God ordained way and the roles can only be fulfilled with the help of the Holy Spirit. I believe because we have exalted the area of education and training and programs above that of God, we have in effect raised up an Idol in the church. God I believe will not act while there is an Idol in place. But once removed I also think he has no choice but to do so. By putting Elders in their proper place the Idolatry in this area is removed, and God will do this and it will then become much clearer.

  8. When Martin Luther left the church in 1520 he became leader of his own sect, eliminating any traditional church teachings that he found hard to accept. Others followed his lead, setting up new versions as they found they couldn’t agree with each other. Fast forward hundreds of years and we see tens of thousands of christian churches all with varying beliefs based on individual interpretations of scripture.

Does this sound like God’s plan?

    Not to me.

Consider the universe. Science. Nature. Our God is of unity and order, not chaos and disagreement. Jesus gave the keys of the kingdom to Peter so we could worship together in peace, under the guidance of the Holy Spirit and leadership chosen by Him.

Are there sinners in the church? Absolutely. We’re all sinners. But Jesus promised that the gates of hell shall not overcome the church he founded.* When we find evil we must root it out and reform from the inside to stay where we were planted, together in Christ.

    *Matthew 16:17-19

    • Best response ever. The multitude of various church denominations in the world leads to confusion within Christian communities as well as and especially outside of Christianity. All claiming to have the right and most Holy Inspired teachings – how could they all be inspired by the Holy Spirit if they are all inspired to different beliefs. God is a God or order and unity – consider how he created the world.

      • The bible tells us that Christ will teach us not the physical cooperate Churches or their pastors!

Isa 2:3 And many people (true elect) shall go (leave the church) and say, Come ye (true believers), and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD (bible), to the house of the God of Jacob (Jerusalem above); and he (Christ) will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for out of Zion (Kingdom of God) shall go forth the law, and the word of the LORD (Christ) from Jerusalem (Eternal church).

    • You sound like you are Catholic. If so, you did not hear at all what Andrew was saying here. And I believe that Catholicism is the worst of the worst when it comes to lies of the church, from Mary being born of a virgin birth (not true), Mary being able to forgive sins being put on the same level as Christ himself (not true), the pope being god over all, being equal in authority to scripture not to mention Christ (not true), and on and on. You could try to “reform from [the church] inside” of the Catholic church forever, and you will never see the type of reform Andrew is talking about. Even the Catholic church’s suppossed “foundation” (or rock) has been wrong from the beginning, misinterpreting scripture. It wasn’t Peter that the church would be built upon, but Jesus Christ himself; not man, but God Himself. The “rock” referred to here in scripture is Christ, even though the name of Peter means rock. Call it a segue,or transition, or an annology, or whatever, but the “rock” here clearly is referring Christ himself. Peter’s answer to Jesus was that JESUS is The Christ, and that is who the church was to be built upon, not Peter. Peter was just a man, same as the pope. And hell will never prevail against Christ! The only keys that Catholic church has are keys to hell with all of its damnable doctrines heresies, which the Catholic church will be judged.

13Now when Jesus came into the district of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, “Who do people say that the Son of Man is?” 14And they said, “Some say John the Baptist, others say Elijah, and others Jeremiah or one of the prophets.” 15He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?” 16Simon Peter replied, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” 17And Jesus answered him, “Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah! For flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but my Father who is in heaven. 18And I tell you, you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

God please open our eyes, all of our eyes. I was brought up Pentecostal. I’m working thru many lies the “church” told me, too. It’s not just one denomination that has problems; they all do. And the “true church” may never come together in one glorious harmonious stuctured organization as you see it clearly in your mind, one big happy Catholic family. But God has always had a remnent of people who truely have loved him; I want to be one of those people! What I don’t want is to some day get to heaven and hear God say, “Well, you loved your so-called ‘church’, but you didn’t love me!”

      Blessings.

  9. This is a response to the other Brother “John”
    I am also John :)

Brother John, you are applying good apologetics.
If you have time, please read mine also (11/02/2013).
I am a second year seminary student.

In my Hermeneutic class I took last year, I was blown away by the teaching role of the Holy Spirit. In one of my textbooks, Klein, Blomberg, and Hubbard, Jr writes, “The Spirit does not inform us of Scripture meaning! That is, the Spirit’s help does not replace the need to interpret biblical passages according to the principles of language communication.” But rather, “The Spirit convinces God’s people of the truth of the biblical message, and then convicts and enables them to live consistently with that thruth.” This opened my eyes. If the HS gave us understand just by reading and prayer, then everyone who is sincere will exegete the Scriptures. No! A believes must “search the Scripture, rightly dividing the Word of God!” That is why I am in seminary. Theology is the compass to direct a born-again believer to understand why he was chosen for eternal life, although theology is not a mandate.

    God bless you John

    John

    • ha hahhahhaa, lol, lolm, lol lol; yes paStor man to be whatever you say. shall we go tip toeing through Calvins tulips,. LOL,LOL,LOL,LOL,LOL,LO,LOOL

      • Satan is using the Church seminary to clone false teachers. They are nothing more than white washed graves

  10. Blessings to you Brother in the faith.
I am a fellow believer in the Lord Jesus Christ.
Although I commend your sincere heart, you make too many generalizations on many “doctrinal” level theology.
I do not want to directly attack your opininons for the Bible commands us to rebuke in love, but recommend that whatever you say, it should be backed up with specific verses in the Scripture. I do not doubt your passionate love for our Lord, but at the same time, if we are to proclaim God’s word, the source should be from Him and not us. We are mere vessels for transmission. Among all the claim you make, the one about the church really disturbs me (#2). Churches did exist in the form of meeting places in the NT. Paul wrote to the CHURCH OF CORINTH (1Cor1:2); to the CHURCH OF GALATIA (Gal 1:2); to the saints of EPHESUS (Eph 1:1); to the saints of PHILIPPI (Phil 1:1); to the saints of COLOSSE (Col 1:2); to th CHURCH OF THESSALONIANS (1Thess 1:1, 2Thess 1:1); to all the saints in ROME (ROM 1:7). Not only this, Jesus Himself says to the Apostle John, “… What you see, write in a book and send it to the SEVEN CHURCHES which are in Asia: to Ephesus, to Smyrna, to Pergamos, to Thyatira, to Sardis, to Philadelphia, and to Ladicea.” (Rev 1:11). These were literal physical churches proven by archeological remains. They were actual churches then and represent the symbolic church today. Either way, your statement of “church buildings are anti-New Testament” is absolutely false… I’m sorry to rebuke you… I do in sincere heart. There is the invisible universal church which includes you and me and all who truly believe. But the New Testament clearly had physical churches where believers of ALL race, gender, nationality met to worship. The strongest defense to refute your clain is seen in Mat 16:18, Jesus says, “… on the petra, I will build my ekklesia.”

Again, the reason I got into your website is not to create dissention. My original reason was, like you, I was meditating on God’s will. If is funny that your experience is quite similar to me and my wife’s. We were so tired of the secular church and their non-biblical agendas. We took a different turn than what you and your wife did. We stayed right there where the true Gospel needed to be preached and commissioned. No need to go to Africa, there’s lost people right in our churches. We must start in our own household of faith to proclaim Jesus and love lost people (Gal 6:10).

God bless you and your family, and your ministry.

    John

    • John, If you look more carefully at my website and in particular, ‘9 Lies of the modern church’ (at the very start) you will see that it is written by Andrew Strom, not me. I do not agree with all that Andrew has to say but I do believe that these ‘9 lies’ are true. You mentioned the real translation of the word, ecclesia, meaning ‘the called out ones’ and when Paul was writing to the ‘church’ wherever, he was referring to ‘the called out ones’ and actually writes one of his letters, to the ‘church’ (ecclesia – ‘called out ones’) ‘that meet in your house’. They met in houses not church buildings. The church buildings and cathedrals came later as Andrew explains, when the corrupted church of Rome rose up. However, if you want to go to church, then that’s up to you. As for me and my wife, the Lord called us out of organised religion and he is still calling his ‘ecclesia’ (called out ones) away from those man made institutions. You see John, as far as I am concerned I am a member of the ecclesia, the called out ones, the church of Jesus Christ. You may be too but it isn’t at all dependent on you attending a church building, rather only ‘if you have been chosen before the disruption of the world to be holy and faultless in His sight!’ And that is a mystery to me and is all about God’s grace! Nothing I have done makes me worthy of this precious gift so I just accept it with thanks and look forward to the day when Jesus returns for his ‘ecclesia’. What a day that will be! Hallelujah!!

    • Why dont you so called christians stop with your self righteousness, and lies. the modern church is full of doctrines of demons. pick up some history books on the early church. and I do not mean from roman reform onward to the doctrines of demons of Calvin and Luther. When you care as much as others as you do for yourself the kingdom of G-D is at hand until then you are still lost in your sins.

      • God does not use other books for teaching truth, only the bible. Also one can read the bible over and over but if God does not open ones eyes and ears he can not know spiritual truth.

    • My thing is everyone says this an that about churches an what is old or new testament. But Jesus Christ did not write any of it…..an the word has been twisted an conformed to what benefits others, evident by the leave out of certain books and chapters from the bible. So who’s to say what to believe?

  11. Thank you for the truth! Please pray for me as i need Gods will in my life,in trying to find a church where my family and friend and her children can worship the true God.

    • Google His Holy Church, Brother Gregory has authored some very good books on who Yeshua the Messiah is and what His message is to all who will follow Him.

  12. Hi, Peter here Andrew, andrew strom.i have a question for you please.you say some of the people that have been in th wilderness {i have for 20 years} are going to be used by God to replace those phoney leaders etc to help people.i love the sound of what you say but i am sorry to say i just can’t see it.i know that does’nt mean it won’t come to pass..why do you say that? and what do you base your prediction on? Love in Jesus.Peter

  13. Hi Howler Monkey.i am sorry to hear of you’re suspected cancer.yes on the whole most mainstream churchs are lost.it is not the way to go.i do still go to church BUT after having my bubble burst 20 years ago i now know the truth.i still go to church because of course there ARE still genuine followers of Jesus in churchs and i believe God can direct me.however hope is’nt in church fellowship anymorebut rather THE LORD is directing me onto the streets to preach to the unsaved and have some fellowship with the very small number of Christians who are doing the same thing.that is my true church at this time. Please ask God too bring you true fellowship with other believers.i will pray for you. God bless,Peter

  14. I always felt the function as a church is to support each other individually. I hate that millions are spent on buildings while people in the church suffer and the pastor gets a paycheck. Good example there is a chance i have cancer but i cant afford screening or even fuel money to get to the church. I told my Church my problem and i was told we will pray for you. Once they told me this i haven’t heard form them or anything. They told me though a Facebook message. I’ve been in allot of churches because I’ve moved and it seems even the best ones have major flaws.

  15. Because I Fear God and to me this is the wisest thing I can do as well as trust in God. I AM A CHRISTIAN FIRST AND NOT ONLY TO I READ THE BIBLE BUT LIVE BY IT! I am not swayed by any name on a church building or by any preacher or priest but I am swayed by the word of God.

All things become a matter of interpretations! My interpretation my not be consistent with another’s! However my love for my brother is the most important thing I can do! May he believer one thing or another! I pray continually for all and for myself as well. I hear what the site is saying but I would suggest we take care not to discourage another away from the truth. THAT GOD SO LOVED THE WORLD THAT HE GAVE HIS ONLY BEGOTTEN SON THAT WE MIGHT HAVE EVERLASTING LIFE!

Understand life is found in Bible it’s called the tree of life! (following Gods will) and the tree of Good and evil (death) which is the end result of sin (death) going against God’s word is to accept satans ways over Gods. History shows the end result of following satans way is death.

Any time you go against Gods will you sin and you and/or someone else dyes! Choices are given to love God first and put Him first in your every thought and action and live! Or to follow the deceptions since the beginning at the tree of knowledge to know evil and you will surely die! It has been that way since the beginning and nothing changed because we all make the wrong decision!

So stay in church no matter where it is or what name is on the door! And remember the church is run by men many who have Godly thoughts but we all have fallen short and to love is to be close to God. To cause division and hate is an abomination to God Proverbs 6 verse 16!

As Jesus taught even love your enemy. For God is in Control but the powers of this world run this world mostly in error let History show this! May God continue to Bless and Keep You all! As Jesus told those others around him who were being hung on the cross. I go and make a place for you in my Fathers Kingdom! By faith I know this to be true. Accept Jesus as He was and is! The only one to beat death and who now rules the world is to follow Jesus’s teachings and ways! Remember God is Love and Love is God to forget this in dissention from anyone is going against Gods will for any of us!

I pray for all daily that the Holy Spirit will fill all your hearts and minds to become one with God! No matter whose name is on the door. Beware of those who tell you God is here or there! Jesus told us that and being here or there could be just an innocent thought that puts your seed of life on hard ground rather than on the fertile soil of life

  16. I asked God tonight “what should I do”? It lead me to your article about taking care of the little things and just being/believing. I guess I need to be reminded over and over again. I”m a mom of 3 small kids and sometimes I feel desperate. Parenting is such a huge responsibility and a challenge.

I had to bribe my 5 year old with icecream to go to church last time. And we have a good church, our priest has told us, “come, don’t come, its nice to see you here” and he doesn’t expect us to tithe either, we didn’t even have to pay for our wedding, but we ended up giving him some money a few months later. I think every church is different, but on the whole, many churches and church leaders have lost touch with what Jesus taught us. I feel like I am needing more people to talk with about Jesus, and maybe I should start my own gathering in my house for worship and Bible study.

I think I will put the word out there and just see what happens, maybe other people in my neighborhood are feeling the same way. Thank you for your site and our ideas and for all you do.

  17. On all other points, I agree with you. We do need reverence, humility before the truth, and an understanding of the precariousness of salvation. I thank you for pointing out the extra-biblical nature of many of our modern “feel-good” Christian beliefs. My Church is not popular because her leadership refuses to “water down” the truth about Christ’s revelation. True, that has lost her some members because she is deemed “too severe” “too strict” “too traditional” but she is faithful.

Again Jesus said, “Peace be with you! As the Father has sent me, I am sending you.” 22And with that he breathed on them and said, “Receive the Holy Spirit. 23If you forgive anyone’s sins, their sins are forgiven; if you do not forgive them, they are not forgiven.” -John 20:21-23. (NIV)To say that the Church was not founded and entrusted to men who would lead it and carry the mission of Christ and his authority out into the world is to deny the gospel that Jesus entrusted to the apostles. That twelve men were enough to lead the church in the beginning, when the “church” consisted of several hundred says little, I think about the number of leaders necessary to administrate and teach a church body of over a billion people.

I like a lot of what you’re saying, but to deny the need for human leaders ordained by God is to deny the entire history of salvation, from the prophets to the apostles, and down through 2000 years of ministry. The authority of the very bible you quote rests on the authority of the bishops who ratified it.

What you suggest, that each man read, interpret, and teach the bible as the spirit moves him, is not a practice that leads to authenticity, but rather to chaos and the continual splintering of the body of Christ. If you want to see whether we can all arrive at the same truth, and all can be relied upon to be ourselves guardians and proc lamers of the truth, then ask yourselves how many schisms have come about as a result of dogmatic differences. (a new church every 15 minutes in the US)

Yet Christ said in Mathew 16:18-19 “I also say to you that you are [l]Peter, and upon this [m]rock I will build My church; and the gates of Hades will not overpower it. 19 I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; and whatever you bind on earth [n]shall have been bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth [o]shall have been loosed in heaven.”

So instead of the chaos of personal interpretation, Christ chose a central authority for the Church that he formed, establishing once and for all whence the truth could be found.

Thanks for your blog! God bless you as you continue on your road to calvary, and I mine.

    United in Christ,

    -John

    • Brother John, you are applying good apologetics.

      John

  18. I love your site and I agree with you that God is bringing up new leaders. I do not attend Church anymore because of all the bickering and splits. I am tired of playing church. Today’s church’s has brought in so much of the worldly ways. There is no fear in God anymore, Just look at the shape this Country is in. Children are killing each other as well as their parents. It is not safe anywhere you go. I am in the process of starting a home group to have some bible study and worship. Please keep me in your prayers..God Bless you for standing your ground. Most people do not like me because I speak out and when I do they get offended. I just had a conversation with a church concerning having a Harvest Festival on Oct. 31. I told them that they just changed the name from Halloween to Harvest Festival to justify what they are doing. I do not believe this is right..We must as a church get away from the traditions of men.

  19. some of your teachings are right but then you have to take both new and old testaments.
For the wounded lambs some of your words will be like honey so you have to be very careful what you teach pleas listen to the voice of God not to your wounds.

We do need institutions to teach us (Not to give us a certificate but to learn His word) only God can approve us to serve him (there can be misunderstandings there will be but if God has chosen you for something no one can hinder you)
We need churches to guide us (for fellowship not for a brand)
We need to pay what is of God to Him. so if you want to give more that 10% that is good but 10% belongs to Him, God’s word never changers “Bring yea all the tithes into the storehouse. that there may be meat in mine house and PROVE ME NOW HEREWITH, saith the Lord of hosts if i will not open you the windows of heaven and pour you out a blessing that there shall not be room enough to receive it.(Malachi 3:4) God will prove Himself to you if you do your part as He did to me.
if we believe in Him and trust Him and if we keep his commandments (the two in new testament) and if we surrender our lives totally to Him. He is faithful to look after us.
We need to learn from each other

We have to gather to worship God but there mustn’t be any division among believers (there are no denominations in Heaven)

we have to look to the one who said follow me with the cross. so you will have a cross so we will have a cross where ever we go lets take it and follow our savior.
    love you all in christ

  20. I am an artist , inshort all this 9 article are true ,and i will like 2 make a piece of music with it, to enable da people know da true quick cos both da leaders , da people are going astray . so permit me if u like de idea

  21. Hi, thank you for your response. As a matter of fact, I just deactivated my facebook account last week; this was strong and I knew it was from the Lord. Too many distractions on fb. Even “christians” were confusing me…they were not looking good on there…getting caught up in all the nonsense and..false doctrine slipping in here and there (I include myself in this too). I have only deactivated fb at this point because I believe the Lord is directing me to start a blog that is strictly for His Glory…no jokes, no nonsense, and when the blog is up he wants me to access fb people with the blog address. Then I delete fb for good.

    • I meant I was getting caught up in the nonsense, not the false doctrine..that I noticed “big time” and I praise the Lord for discernment.

  22. Andrew, dear brother in Christ, big true I ve felt there is comming a big laundry in church today to become the real church Jesus wants to prepare his people for its 2nd visit physically to this world.
I am form Peru live in Lima excellent site and congrat for your brave heart
    to reveal this simply truth.
I ll be praying for you and many people to open eyes to this by the Holly Spirit.
May God multipliy his Grace, Peace and Favor over you and your family.

  23. Wow, I just found you here, and I’m loving this site! Lots of truth being spoken here. :D

This article in particular spoke to me, I think God’s been leading me to become one of these New Leaders. I’ve been seeing more and more that there was a lot of practices in the church, even my church, that doesn’t coincide with what the bible teaches. I feel like I’m being called to be a “real church” planter, wherever God leads.

Thanks for summing this all up.

    • I agree.. wow…I am praying and boom God leads me to this site..I was up late journaling for a new season..its been awhile…lolol and the sweet Lord said this is the day of my new Journey thank you Jesus..thank you for disernment of the true believers…and thank you for letting me come to this site..where truth in Christ is spoken as I enter into a new Journey with Jesus..xoxox..Jacqueline

  24. Mike,
I know exactly what you mean about the “in” crowd at church. Every church it seems to have one.
What part of “be not a respector of persons” do they not get? I get it. So do you.
Be thankful to God that He judges not by what one has or how someone looks or what they can do, but judges us by our hearts. No one can fool Him.

  25. What do i think about you’re latest comments on “the church”?..well,rather sadly i feel i agree with what you are saying is correct.”playing the christian game seems to hit the nail on the head.let us all remember that the list of things in the book of relevation[last one in the bible..] which will exclude poeple from heaven include-quote-“All those who love and practise falsehood”,-unquote.>fact is..try pretty much any biggish church for a while and you will notice an inner circle of people,an “in crowd”..or “heavyweights” as i call them.the standard polite sunday morning greeting of “how are you” must’nt be answered truthfully if you are falling apart cuz these poeple don’t really care if you are cracking up and in great sorrow.also notice if you do start trying to talk to one of these in crowd the fact that how quicky they will be distracted from listening to you if another one of they’re in crowd friends appears nearby!..they will immediately ignore what you were saying to them and look and start a conversation with they’re cohort.it’s a church “pecking order of importance and the lower down this you are dictates any “respect” you command in this social conversation scene..canuck7 or canadian Pete.

    • Sorry Pete. Had my bro Mike on my mind. Everyone please pray for him.

  26. I am not commenting about anything that has previously been writtten here however I feel the need to bring up a topic that may be of interest to the few of you who do read these words.
Are you as sick and tired of having to deal with those that you come in contact with that play the “christian game” and by game I mean acting the “correct’ role of what the world precieves as what a believer in Christ should act like but not actually being as Christ would have them be in reality?
You know them – they say the prescribed words and act so righteous and sanctamonious, pious, and correct but inwardly are wolves in sheep’s clothing, who love the chief seats and have false pride in their assumed roles as leaders of the flock and not just these but their lackies who willingly go along with their disguised evil deeds by supporting their behavior by never calling them out for what they are but avidly going right along with them by playing their roles as true disciples but who are not true disciples/ believers of Christ but believers of wicked men.
I meet so many unreal people who call themselves ‘Christian’s” and frankly am sick and tired with dealing with them and have the audacity to say so which they would condemn me for as being un-Christ like but I am calling them for what they are – BLIND GUIDES LEADING THE BLIND -HYPOCRITES!
I can readily understand why the monastic societies in the early church developed as I often desire to run away and hide more to escape them than to be alone with God – who I can talk and be with anytime I please.

Am I alone in my feelings about these people and am I wrong to speak openly about them? I don’t think so – so what do you think?

    • Maybe you guys have came to the truth because God had called us out of the churches.Revelation 18:4 And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.

Because Satan has taken them over and he has but his fallen angel into these churches to mislead Gods children with lies. They have lied to us from Genesis to Revelation nothing they have taught us matches up with what God was trying to tell us. But until we got away from those places and learn God word by the teacher He said He will send. I am a teacher of the word and I teach what the Bible says not what I think it says. God is not going to talk outside of your common sense.

Just like the lie they told us from the very beginning this lie work way back when because our great great grandparent did not even know how to read if they were allow to, and many of the Bible teachings was brought down from generation to generation as truth basically because we loved our parent and wanted to follow after them. Satan is smart but we was told to learn theses churches at the time that the temptation of Christ happened this is when Christ new that Satan next overthrow when he would us his fallen Angels to take over would be the Churches and synagogue. This is what that teaching was really all about! But the chruch was not going to tell us this because they are working for the Ant Christ behalf. Haven’t you noticed if anyone would ever mention anything about Satan in church it seemed like they all have the same answer for you and it was. Oh! Lets not give Satan any of our time, or We give the Devil to much credit and they even went as for as to say we blame the Devil for everything and most of the time it is us! I am like what!!

It is like they are trying to protect them or something!.Which that is what they are doing they are even teaching them about a rapture because the one that is coming first is Satan acting like Christ returning and this is all the church have been teaching their members to do is look for Christ return! The only thing is Christ is not coming back in the flesh body anymore, when He returns to use soon as we here that trumpt sound we are all going to be changed into our spirit bodies this is the air that spoke spoke about air means spirit and the spirit is the body that the soul lives in. It just like the body we have we can talk laugh feel. So how could they teach them to look for Christ when we are not going to able to see the spirit, they are teaching this because the fake Christ is coming back in the flesh and his name is Satan and this is who the church is preparing them to run to.

If you want to know who is really running the church by adding and taking away from the bible and teaching us lies is Satan and his fallen Angels that he have in this churches now this is whos teaching God children and they do not even realize it just like when did not realize that Satan was quoting back scripture that he add to an took away from because people when they read the word they read so fast they read right over these word and do not even really they have been distorted. Check this out for yourself and she how subtle he did this and was showing Christ this is what he was going to be doing to these churches through those pastors, ministers etc.

Luke 4:9 And he[Satan] brought him[Christ] to Jerusalem, and set him on a pinnacle of the temple, and said [Satan speaking] unto him,[to Christ] If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down from hence:

Satan quoted this one next to Christ…… Luke 4:10 For it is written, He shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee

In this verse Satan also used the words for it is written meaning this is based on facts of the bible which it was not because he left out the words [in all thy ways]……………….This is [taking away] from the word of God!

This is what the word really says…………Psalms 91:11 For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.

Satan than quoted another verse to Christ….. Luke 4:11 And in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone………………………..Satan added the words [And in their hands] and [at any time]……………..this is and example of adding to the word of God.

This is what the word really says…………..Psalms 91:12 They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.

    • I hear you and this is a great thread

  27. U knw not wat u speak.m talking to u who wrote the article-

  28. The fact remains that God’s elect cannot be deceived – they never have and never will be because it is not possible as God shields them from being so by His Spirit alone.
His elect are not in what is called Christ’s church today because they know better than to be so as anyone associated with having God’s abiding Spirit will not associate with the spirit of Antichrist which is an imitator of the real thing – who is Our Lord Jesus Christ.
Jesus predicted of such false followers who He will reject as they do not know Him personally only because they do not want to – yet choose to believe in His reality, presence and present work.
They would rather believe in Him than believe Him so their god is a false christ of their own making and who is of the spirit of Antichrist. Their “savior”who the wait for will soon come but will be defeated and cast into hell prepared for him and his god Satan and all those who willfully choose to follow them by the actual Living Christ!

  29. hi,fantastic as it sounds,i think there is well a lot of truth in the remarks about todays church being satantic.i mean the regular organizations, not the true spiritual church..i’ve seen so much stuff at my old regular happy clappy “born again church” that it is all totally phoney and liturally rotten ot the core from the so called “leadership” down.including a pedophile sexually abusing a child regularly under the noses of the leadership……the church as we know it is a DINOSAUR that must go..what “worked”?! in the past won’t wash any more, there is a quickening happening..canadian Pete.,ps,i was a victim in there too.

    • Jesus predicted that in the last days many would be deceived by false prophets/teachers and that if “it were possible” God’s very elect would be deceived. Thank Almighty God that His elect will never be deceived because it is not possible for them to be so due to His astounding grace alone.
Some say ” come out of her my people.” I say that His elect never would have been so deceived as to be in her (for very long anyway) as the church of today is clearly not His and is of His imitator – the Antichrist so anyone with the true spirit of God would know so and stay away from such wickedness.
Did not the Apostle Paul teach that the spirit of Antichrist was clearly evident in the “church” in his (Paul’s) time so we can expect even greater satanic work in what is called Christ’s church today as our Lord predicted an increasing wickedness along with knowledge vastly increasing in the last days prior to His return.
Everything predicted is clearly evident so how are His true believers deceived? The fact is they are not.
Only those that are not His from the beginning or those who know of Him but refuse to believe Him are deceived but wilfully and knowingly so – to their own doom.
They are the majority – exactly like those living when Jesus physically walked in Israel – who clearly hear but choose to be deaf and clearly see but choose to be blind. Their fate is sealed without their earnest repentance.
This spirit of Antichrist abounding in what is accepted by the world as Christ’s church of today is an indication of the approaching great tribulation and a fufillment of all the prophicies predicting a great falling away and wickedness abounding as in the days of Noah, so we as His elect should rejoice as our Great Reedemer’s return shall return soon. Even so Lord Jesus come!

    • Mr. Jenner you are so backward and unlearned as you could be. Do you really think you are a spokesman for God, shame on you.

      • And shame on you nameless pastor whoever you are. it is a fact that amny terrible and Godless things took place at the LARGE AOG church here in Worcester uk.false teaching, child abuse, JEZELBEL spirits running amoke. you comment on things you have no experience of or knowledge. come to Worcester and i will introduce you to many people from that church who will testify of THEIR abuse. you are a fool sir. and more, maybe you are yourself one of these “BLIND GUIDES” Jesus warned so much about. and a wolve in sheeps clothing., i come against you demonic spirit in the name of JESUS.you’re time is short and the true saints are protected by the blood of Jesus.

  30. Neither you nor Rae apparently know what the true church of Jesus Christ really is or you willingly choose not to know. You just do not “get it” because you do not get Him.

Christ’s Church has nothing to do with worldly things such as buildings, buying and selling of land or property, money, boards, denominations, etc.etc.etc..

His CHURCH is a SPIRITUAL building housing Christ’s SPIRITUAL family built upon a SPIRITUAL foundation stone that cannot ever be moved SPIRITUALLY, destroyed SPIRITUALLY, or sold SPIRITUALLY because it was purchased eternally SPIRITUALLY with it’s founders physical blood which was SPIRITUALLY freely given by His tremendous physical and SPIRITUAL sacrifie for our ETERNAL SPIRITUAL redemption only because of the great SPIRITUAL love of GOD who is the ONLY HOLY SPIRIT!!

  31. In Australia, every church I have attended (including multiple denominations) has been taken over by freemasons and satanic covens.

My first childhood church was recently secretly sold to developers by the freemason church board for half its value. Then the board purchased a failing sporting business for more than its value and far more than the amount they received for the sold church. Now the church hires a school hall for Sunday worship, and the board has asked members to pay for a new church building – the same members who paid for the original church that was sold.

But that’s nothing compared to the child abuse happening here. Over 20 years ago, a counsellor told me that 1/3 of my city’s churches were covers for satanic ritual abuse. This includes human sacrifice.

That explains to me why the churches are so bad. Hence, come out of her my people…

    • You mean you were bought and then sold?Like sheep at the market, using the root of all evil as currency?and the ‘flock’ went along with this?wow things are worse than I even began to think they were,Every church I have ever entered I have felt physically ill, like Ive been made hollow or hollowed out,for years I thought there was something very wrong with me.How could I be right and the my whole known world be wrong? but the world was/is wrong,I know that now,but the getting of that wisdom came hard,I fought it all the way,I believed the preachers,I thought I was evil because I have never felt the compunction to speak in tongues,I feel the presence of evil when people do begin mindless meaningless jibbering,But I also feel isolated from other men.and then the Lord YESHUA lead me here.I wont thank you Andrew, but I do thank YAWEH for you and for your work.I hope one day we can meet.

  32. hi,well well.what can i say?i been through the mill and then the “wilderness” for 20 years now.i do see the church dinosar is dying a death>hallaluyah!!!!!!!!!!

    • Camped under bridges or on river banks-hostels-job to job-sitting-watching-thinking-feeling as if you dont belong in this place-this dimension-then one day out of the blue,clarity-everything begins dovetailing-making sense.Stay in the light bro there is a job for you to do.You know how to talk to the lost in their own language, they will listen to you,but not to our typical smug-judgemental “Christian”.You are strong enough to plough the toughest of ground.God has trained you for this.Remember whoever is last on earth shall be first in Heaven.Being poor is priceless. There is much power and freedom in poverty. If you have but a little of this world then you have little to lose.and little to hamper you.

      • Thanks thomas who once doubted!,i take you comments to be from our God.bless you. Peter

      • Anyone that truly feels comfortable in this current world was most- likely not created for the one to come.

  33. Thank the LORD for this. I needed to read this today. God Bless you.
May I quote some of what you have written on my FB page. Who are you?
    Katrina

    • Thank the LORD for this. I needed to read this today. God Bless you.
May I quote some of what you have written on my FB page, Lovedb4created?
      Katrina

    • May our God richly bless you with Himself Katrina. You may quote me if you so choose but do so at your own risk as I often offend those who do not want to hear words of truth – which does not bother me because Jesus was not heard by most of those who literally heard Him and eventually killed Him because of His words more than His deeds so I am in good company and if everyone supported me then i know I am not His.There are so many teaching what the world wants to hear rater than what they need to hear today but I am not one of them nor desire to be.
I am simply a great sinner more greatly loved than I can ever do so in return and loved before I was created by an awesomely loving Creator. Brent

    • Be wary of FB it belongs to men.

  34. I tell you this my brothers and sisters and you are my eternal brothers and sisters if you presently believe our Lord. His words are truth. I have my combat boots on today so watch out if I step on some toes!

There will be a more tolerable judgment for the crack whores, prostitutes, drug dealers, murders, porn dealers, adulterers, and child molesters, drunks etc. than most who name the name of Christ but do not believe Him and teach others to disbelieve Him by simply believing in Him. The “church” leaders of today teach that believing in His reality and historicity is enough to be saved. It is not.

You do not believe me? Does not Satan and his demons believe these very things taught by most of religious so-called faithful “christians” of today?

Simply believing in and accepting that Jesus is the son of God cannot save anyone.
Those who promote such errant theology are misleading God’s chosen if it were possible but fortunately His chosen cannot be deceived nor ever will be. Jesus true followers are very few indeed but very blessed to have escaped this snare set by Satan to trap those who want to be.

I am sick and tired but more importantly disgusted by the so called “righteous” of the ” church” of today who loudly proclaim their righteousness and by so doing confirm their unrighteousness and unbelief (faithlessness). These look down their noses at others who do not compound their sin by hiding it from themselves and others as the self righteous and/or religious do.

These self-righteous are following their father who is Satan and not our Lord for “there is none righteous – no not one” and “all our righteousness is as filthy rags” so all men are filthy with only one exception and that is Christ Jesus. These knowingly puff themselves up it their own eyes and each others. This majority in the “church” make a mockery of Jesus’ love and sacrifice and His Father’s grace by hiding their own sin or being so obtuse that they actually believe that they have none and are narcissist christians who knowingly do not see or acknowledge their sinfulness but readily point out the obvious sin in others or at the very least think or say about the obvious sinner ” there but for the grace of God go I.” Hypocrites!.

Believing Christ confirms that the elect are His Father’s elect.
A child molester who repents or even is sorry or has shame has a lesser condemnation form our Lord than a T.V. preacher who self- righteously has forgotten that he is nothing than a filthy sinner saved by God’s grace alone.
Jesus condemned these types publicly did He not? He also publicly dined and associated with whores, drunks, sinners, and tax collectors and publicans and with lepers and the so called unclean and did not condemn them but showed nothing but compassion and mercy to them. These became his first believers.
On the other hand – the people who Jesus publicly criticised and condemned were the so called righteous of the day who felt they were better people because their sins were not open to the public and who were the religious, political, and social leaders of the day.
These same religious, political, economic and social leaders of today will be condemned by Jesus as well .
Do not think more highly of yourselves than is true because God will bring you down to the level you deserve before Him in this life or the next so humble yourselves before the Lord and be lifted up tp Him by Him.
Be very careful my brothers and sisters to not hold yourself up as higher than others who may be more obvious in their sinfulness who God may very well love far more than you. Only God is our judge or has the right to be for the best among us deserves death and eternal separation from our Righteous and most merciful only Creator of all! Amen!

  35. Amen to that, thank you.

  36. Marcel my brother (and you are indeed my brother if you believe Jesus Christ) Our Lord’s church is not an organization or denomination or called by a specific name or has a title. Christ’s are simply His believers and are His church which is not limited by time and space or any created thing. All that were chosen for Him by the Father before they were created by the Father are “His church” and His church is not somewhere one goes to or is a member of by belonging to or even by believing in Christ’s existence – but simply and only through the obedience of our believing Him – which is faith – which is the only requirement from Him of being truely His, and thus who He was sacrificed for to redeem to be His for eternity which has no beginning or end. Thart is why God loved us before he created us – because we loved His son enough to believe Him. not for our righteousness which we have none but we are justified through our faith in His righteousness! Praise Him for being the only Righteous One among all men.! Amen!

  37. One man in a thousand can I respect………..

  38. I stopped going to church because I felt it was loosing it’s way. I was actually told by the priest that I did not dress properly to attend, among other issues.
After a 6 year absence I went back for a baptism. I was appalled to see there were no bibles in any of the pews. Plenty of other books but no actual bible. That is not all, at the end of the service, the Lords Prayer is no longer complete.
“For thine is Kingdom the Power and the Glory” is no longer included as part of the prayer.
The catholic church has lost it’s way.

    • The catholic church belongs to satan, the catholic church is The Whore of Babylon, the catholic church is the root of all mans churches, all churches are corrupted through catholisism.Papism is the worship of man,The blasphemes and speaks of great things, and a device of satan, you did well to come out of her.rituals and jewels will not save anyone, only the Lord God can save.

      • I want my children to be baptized, I don’t know what to do. I am not going to church to do it. Any thoughts?

      • John baptized prior to Jesus’ ministry. Baptism does not ensure salvation nor is it supposed to be preformed on chilfdren who do not need it – but adults only who have repented of their sins. Don’t believe me?
Name one person in the early church who was not an adult when baptized and only after believing in and believing our Lord’s words direct;y or the teachings of those who heard Him.
No where in scripture does it state that baptism is an indication of one’s salvation or cause of such, but it is a response of the faithful having acquired faith (believing Jesus) and their imitation of Him to please His Father.

  39. Dear Ruby.
I apologise from the bottom of my heart. I totally misunderstood what you were saying in your first comment and I feel terrible about how I responded to you.

When I am wrong I admit it and try to make amends – if it is possible.

In my zeal to overcome my own past hypocrisy (which is my greatest cross to bear) and to teach what our Lord has shown me about how not to live myself – I sometimes get carried away in seeing hypocrisy in others when there is none exhibited or intended by them. I was wrong about you.

I hurt you and that was not my intention. I was way too judgmental of you and after re-reading what I wrote I see that I sounded very mean and I am ashamed of myself as I have confronted many mean people in my life and God forbid if I am judged by my writing as one of them.

    I beg your forgiveness. Brent

    • Hey Brent, regardless of what you have written to Ruby, please don’t stop commenting on this blog, and please do continue offering your words of wisdom and Biblical truth. I for one appreciate your forthright approach! Love in Jesus, Tony

      • Please overlook my slow response as I have been away from my computer for a week cruising the Western Caribbean and getting some down-time to simply think or not.
I will not stop commenting on this blog unless asked to do so.
My comments may be considered wrong by some but I always try to tell the truth as best as I have received it and doing so is often like walking on the fine edge of a razor.
It is often necessary to adjust one’s lean one way or the other to improve one’s balance when walking a very fine line.
Jesus said His road was “straight, narrow and difficult for most to follow.”
It is difficult at times and at other times very easy – as you, I, and so many others well know – but the burden we carry is light and not tiresome when following His Light.
When walking in the steps of our Lord one must continually clearly check not only one’s path but also one’s balance and stance.
Not doing so makes it easy to stumble and possibly fall causing not only harm to self but others on the path – especially if they are walking in a rockier or darker area that is not as clearly lighted for them. That is when one should provide for one’s brother/sister more light than direction or criticism.
I failed to do so and made a proper adjustment in balance but my feet are firmly planted on this same road – however some parts of this road require boots, some trainers, some rock-climbing shoes, and other parts – even the softness of deer-skin moccassins to properly feel the terrain properly. I was using combat-boots when I should have been using trainers.
Jesus was very bold yet simultaneously compassionate to those who followed Him and His teachings. I should always imitate Him and let Him be the judge of their intentions.
Thank you for your support Tony, Brent

  40. Dear Ruby, maybe God led you to this website as he did me. Your beliefs should represent Gods beliefs and if you follow them, you would’t have to feel awkward or misrepresented. You sound like you are close to God and seeking more wisdom, that is a good route to take. The Bible is the only learning tool we have left from God and must ask him for guidance in interpreting what we read, then wait for his answer. God is actually helping me to adopt a more simple and humble way to live and communicate with other fellow humans, and I feel much better when i don’t create my own answers to the questions I ask him. May God Bless You and answer your questions in his time. Keep supporting God, HE LOVES IT!!

  41. I do not take any offense to what you say “loved etc”. I was only expressing my emotions of how felt after reading posts on this website. I had not meant to “boast” about myself but only express the way I live. No harm to anyone and I apologize for wasting your time. It is obvious that we feel the same way. Everything you stated in the beggining of your first post is what I was trying to say. You took most of what I said incorrect. I do not believe I am most holy and correct. I do not label myself a “christian” even as a church goer. I am not baptized and do not believe in most “religious” beliefs. I utilize the bible as my way of staying close to GOD and I CHOOSE to follow his holy word. I some how ended up on an akward website that I do not feel represents my beliefs. Peace and GOD BLESS.

  42. Ruby- I concede my intactness in stating that you “misquote scripture.” What I meant was that you were in error when you interpret from scripture that ” it(scripture) will be clear to us when we are ready.”

Only God is clearly evident to those who are His elect and to those whom He reveals Himself – when, where, and how He chooses to in whatever means He chooses to – the Bible verses included.

It is not up to us – but Him.

It is only up to us to choose to believe in His being; desire Him enough to seek Him until we find Him, and then believe Him that we have found.

These false teachings in the church today – which includes – that by our simple acceptance/belief that Jesus is who He is (God/Son of God/2nd part of Trinity) and did what He did (born of a virgin/lived/died/crucified as atonement for all sin/was resurrected from the dead/ascended to Heaven/will come again/Jewish Messiah) and/or acceptance/belief of these facts in conjunction with public/private proclamation of one’s beliefs verbally or through baptism/confirmation of church membership that these facts are truth one is born again and are endowed with the Holy Spirit and thereby obtain eternal salvation – is total error.
Does not those who state they are unbelievers undoubtedly do know but choose not to, and all the unrepentant believers, Demons and Satan know all these facts to be truth; can and often state so publicly and can be members/involved in a church body – yet they will not/can not be saved will they?

What is the difference in the saved and those who will never be?

The unsaved may or may not believe in God and the things He has accomplished through his Son – yet they choose not to believe Him.

    The saved do.

  43. Ruby – Exactly who are you correcting? Is it Andrew Strom or Tony? Either way you are guilty of doing the very things you accuse others of in that you seem to be judging too harshly with your criticisms.

You deride others for not interpreting the scriptures to your satisfaction because they may or may not have had established “church doctrinal education” yet you have not been to seminary or Bible college yourself.
You also state that the Holy Spirit guides you in your interpretations of the scriptures but do not concede that another interpretation may be known other than yours – in other words – all believers must conform to your view because you are so Holy and correct – which is an attitude exactly like the Pharisees and Sadducee’s who continually confronted our Lord.

You imply that God’s word is a book of rules that you must appease to please God but fail to understand that it is meant to lead one to the Ruler who is Jesus Christ – the only Word of God.

You promote yourself in your alms-giving, church work, and charity which is contrary to the scriptures where Jesus emphatically stated that His followers should not do as the religious who exalt themselves by their own goodness in His name. You profess to know Gods word so well by God’s Spirit and again repeat the works of the Pharisees and Sadducee’s who killed Jesus.

You promote your “christianity but fail to promote Christ.

You misquote scripture to promote your opinion.

The bible is your god because you say so in “the bible leads me with the Holy Spirit.

My dear – it is supposed to be the other way around. God is who guides you in interpreting scripture for the Bible is only information about Him given to us as help for us to more clearly understand that if we want to find Him – we can and will.

Again – you are falling into the same snare that destroyed those who killed Jesus
    .
    Why did they do so?

Because their religion/ religious scriptures and teachings were substituted by them for the One who it was purported to be about who was standing before them, who they intensely knew about from their religious training, but failed to acknowledge when in their very presence – to His very face. They knew who He was but choose not to know Him. Rather they choose to reject, ransom, lie upon, condemn, betray, slap, torture, and murdered Him that they purported to devoutly worship.
Thank Almighty God they did so for it is His wounds that healed me and will heal me eternally spiritually and will do so for all of His elect. “It pleased God to bruise Him” for my sake…..and yours… if you repent of your errors, and seek God Himself….. rather than your religions views/opinions/training of Him.

Your comments are an absolute example of what is wrong with the church today and confirm exactly what Tony and others have stated here. The fact is- you just don’t get it.
Repent of your religiosity and seek God – not stuff about Him. When you do then you will find Him.
If my words seem harsh to you – then so be it – for it is the truth and only the words of Truth are words spoken in His name and are meant with love for your salvation. (Amen)

  44. More power to you then my friend … each and every one of us must find his or her own way to the truth in Yashua… but I couldn’t help but notice how many “I do this for God” type statements there are in your message … Your obvious humility leaves me a little dumbstruck

  45. I feel anger towards “christians” and “churches” in you and your “9 Lies” etc. I too hope that you have softened your heart and stopped judging “christian” people. You are obviously a aspiration to people that are reading your posts and I do not feel you are leading with a loving heart. You do not seem to be 100% accurate on your bible teachings either. I hope that you respond with more than just your understanding of the scriptures. Many times scripitures are used out of context and that is why it IS important people go to college and get education on the bible. On another note, I strive to follow the WHOLE bible, not just the new testament “rules”. I do not pick which “rules” to follow, I do my best to follow ALL GODS WORD = The BIBLE. I do not take GOD and HIS WORD lightly. I admit I may not understand everything the bible says but I learn and understand more and more, the more I read it. I am not perfect, I am human, I sin, I am wrong in situations, I have anger and other “curses”. But I stay with the HOLY SPIRIT by reading my bible daily, watching sermons, worshipping GOD, fellowishipping with others, serving, and most importantly PRAYING. I tithe because it is my way of giving back. GOD wanted us to tithe and I strive to do what GOD wants us to do. And I too am in debt and cannot pay all my bills at times but I give back to GOD first. I also give offerings too in additiona to my tithes. Offerings sometimes are after my bills. But I do sponser 3 children and they always have my offerings before my bills. I will give up cell phones, entertainment etc before I stop tithing and giving to those children. I go to church because I love to gather around other GOD believing individuals and worship GOD. It is not a place for “religious rules” and ritauls. I do not do anything that I do not feel comfortable with in the church. The church is also a place for me to serve GOD and HIS people. To worship HIM! According to the new testament we are supposed to fellowship with others. How do you fellowship with other believers? My “Pastor” is not always correct and I see his faults but I do not judge him. Yes there are many wrongs in the church and I do believe the bible does say that only a 1/3 of people who claim to be “christians” will actually see HIS kingdom. I do not have a college education and have been denied a paid position in ministry but I did not stop serving in that ministry. I have been hurt by my church and other “christians” but I forgave them, I no longer hold them responsible. I attend 2 churches; I conistantly serve at the one that hurt me & occasionally serve at the other church. I live for GOD and HIS people, I serve them, I pray for them, I help them, I speak up for them, and I am not afraid to tell a fellow brother that he needs to read his bible and live his life according to GODS WORD & not his beliefs on the scripture. Doesn’t the bible say that the scripture will be clear to us when we are ready? Read your bible and it becomes more and more clear as to what GOD wants. Not what you believe him to want. The bible leads me with the HOLY SPIRIT. I believe in Jesus, HE is the way and the truth and HE is the hope we have to reach the kingdom of GOD. You must follow Jesus and HIS teachings! And you must not take them out of context.

  46. What was used as payment for Jesus life? Money. Temptation for material wealth comes from Satan and is not of God. Jesus Himself was tempted by Satan with material wealth and the power it buys but Jesus clearly rejected that temptation and taught His disciples and followers to do so also. God does not change. In His teachings He repeatedly rebuked those that felt that their wealth was an indication of God’s favor to them for their righteousness and taught against those who desired money. The desire for money is what Satan has always tempted the faithful with (including Judas) to deceive many into betraying Jesus Christ. Judas was one of Christ’s chosen was he not? Satan entered Judas’ heart/spirit and the result was Judas betrayed Jesus for money. Many of the so called “chosen” in Jesus’ church today teach that God blesses those who give their money to them for God’s work/purposes.They are exactly like Judas.
Give your alms to Jesus by secretly giving directly to the poor that God leads to you, or you to them, and no man/woman/church/organization claiming to do God’s work. By doing so you will be wisely doing the work of God yourself – pleasing Him – with the result being God’s favor will be bestowed upon you openly- if only in heaven where He is and will be an eternal reward for your faithfulness.

  47. I like what you said about tithing. I don’t make enough to survive because i am a college student.. I have to ask relatives for help all the time and then i feel guilty when I don’t tithe. I don’t have the money to pay rent how am I supposed to give a church money. I am also told that because I don’t tithe, I have money problems. If I was to tithe everything would work out. I love God and Jesus. I just have a hard time giving joyfully ten percent of my income. When I was in training for the Army National Guard and had a steady paycheck I would tithe ten percent.

    • i pray that this will touch you and help you. i am also a student. at a time i also ignored tithing and then i was actually in dept and i was miserable but then God spoke to me about my mistake same day through a book and a sermon (unexpected) and a person. then i took the money i had (more than 90%as a punishment for not tithing) and i can’t say i paid because it belongs to God (tithing) i gave it to the church (in my church they don’t even teach about tithing because they think that the congregation will think that they are asking money from them so they don’t)
God words never change new testament or the old testament so read this verse :- Malachi 3:10
Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse that there may be meat in mine house and prove me now herewith , saith the Lord of hosts, if i will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour out a blessing that there shall not be room enough to receive it.
so you give what is of God to Him and He will open the windows of heaven for you as He did to me! (He will prove himself to you because His word never changes)
      With love
      in Christ

  48. God, My Father, led me to this webpage when i simply typed In the words, “Father, Hallowed Be Thy Name, What do you want me to do now? What I have read here is moving and more important than anything I have heard in a long long time. I truly believe that God and Jesus and the Holy Spirit are here with us on these topics. i have considered these topics of tithing, organized multi-million dollar religious organizations, misinterpretation of Gods words, dress up for sunday christians, Churches that are so huge and costly like idols for mislead people and much more for years. I have never heard anyone speak out about it, as i felt i should be doing. I believe all the answers are in the Bible and prayer and seeking Gods Salvation. I also believe we are about to come to a new beginning for Gods Followers and i now realize that God does not need me to help Him, I need Him to help me find his Salvation! I thank you all and God Bless All Of You for believing in Jesus and Our Father In Heaven. I cannot wait to read more and learn from all that is written about Him! Charlie Laur, Vancouver WA

    • May God Most High Creator of all things richly bless you with faith in Himself – all that is needed for your salvation. Amen.

Merry Christmas to all that are His Chosen!

  49. There is only one thing better than talking about God – that is talking to Him. If anyone desires to discuss our Father’s business – which is all things – then please feel free to email me at brentmcclellan@yahoo.com anytime, day or night.

  50. God NEVER said for pastors to ask PEOPLE for money – or anything, for that matter. He said to ask HIM. WHY aren’t pastors asking GOD – instead of their congregations?

    • The worldly desire worldly things.

The faithful desire God – who provides all that is needed (and sometimes wanted) for His chosen ones.

      .

      • You have said it all, brother! You have said it all!

What a HUGE revelation !! THIS comment is POWERFUL !!

  51. There is complete liberty in Christ Jesus! When I stopped listening to pastors and started reading the Holy Bible on my own – is when I found this out! I realized that God will do what He says He will do: His Holy Spirit will lead us into all truth! You have given such good advice to READ THE BIBLE on your own ! Don’t take ANYONE’s word for it – read it yourself!

Today’s churches want to tie us down & load us with legalities. Their demon possessed minds (but not spirits) teach doctrines of demons keeping Christians sick, diseased and addicted. Another huge fallacy is demons don’t exist – and certainly not in Christians. Huge, huge deception!

God owns everything. All things were created for Him, and by Him. He does not want our money. He wants our hearts. If you place your heart IN your treasure, your money, like today’s pastors are doing, then yes, He wants your money but only because His ultimate goal is your heart. He’s trying to tell us NOT to trust in our money – trust in Him.

My heart is NOT with my money – or anyone’s money. Is yours? I am a child of THE KING! All I have to do is ask Him, and He supplies it to me as He deems. If He doesn’t then it’s because I ask amiss. He already knows my needs, wants & desires. Like any child, we don’t always get what we “desire.”

    • Alma
You are exactly correct concerning the fact that most people do not believe in Satan/demons or God/angels and thus do not realize the amount of spiritual/mental influence and activity generated by them. The majority of the “enlightened & intelligent” world deny their existence altogether.
Denial/unbelief in Satan/God’s existence is Satan’s/demon’s greatest tools used to mentally influence people and win them “en absentia”.

Belief/faith in God/Jesus is the only weapon powerful enough that can overcome unbelief – the weapon of choice of Satan.

Their are many that believe God exists and may even concede that angels exist but either deny Satan’s/evil spirit’s existences, or limit them to myth. Most in this group limit all of the above and their significance by ignoring their activity altogether being content with believing in God’s existence and His creation including demons, yet have no desire for Him personally or knowledge of why He made what He made including themselves; claiming belief in His existence and creation as evidence of their faith. Most claiming to be Christ’s today fall into this category. What they claim as faith is not faith but denial of it by personal choice. They desire knowledge of God rather than God. They spiritually see but choose spiritual blindness and spiritually hear but choose spiritual deafness.

Having the ability to see but not wanting to is just as deadly spiritually as not ever seeing. Stealth is a very powerful weapon used by evil spirits or demons.

Then there are the very very few who not only know of God’s existence but know that He is to be desired above what He created and do so. These hear Him and see Him for the person He is spiritually. These are truly His chosen and obtain knowledge from Him rather than knowledge about Him thus have no fear of anything He created (including Satan and demons) because they know Him well enough to know that they were the reason for all His creative works in the first place and were loved by Him even before He began his work.

Your comments concerning demons I mostly agree with in that true believers can also be plagued with evil spirits – I am not sure of the “possessed” part – but I know that they can be influenced and even greatly so.
I view “possessed” as a term defining a continued or continual state which I do not know is possible in a true believer.
If by possessed you mean that an evil spirit can live alongside a Christian’s spirit influencing them mentally in their physicality then I totally agree – but only if they are unaware/unsure of its existence, or aware of it and have not cast it out because they are not sure how to as yet.
There are variations in the degrees of faith and knowledge given to different true believers in their walk and some may or may not have been given the knowledge or ability of demonic activity, or know what to do when they are made aware of such. Once any true believer realizes that demonic activity/demon exists within them then they will cast it using their faith using Jesus’ name – that is a given.

I do not necessarily agree with your assessment that all physical illnesses and or addictions afflicting true believers are from demonic activity or comes from Satan/demons and thus can be cast away. I view spiritual battles and physical ones uniquely which may be a result of some spiritual activity – or not be. Addictions are often the result of physical failure in a spiritual battle and have become predominately physical over time even though their inception may have been through spiritual temptation/weakness/desire.
Working in a profession which involved critical care of the sick and/or injured for an extended period I have known many truly faithful believers that have grown ill and died from acute or chronic illness as a result of the patients own lifestyle/behavior or not. God created all things including disease and aging which is the result of sin and not the cause. He allows accident / illness/ disease for His purposes but I also know God often miraculously heals for His purposes as well.

I also knows He created death in this world as a blessing for those who are His and a curse for those who are not or ever will be.

God bless you Alma as always. Brent

  52. God is not religious! You are absolutely right! He appeared to the Jews because of the faith of Abraham – and Abraham’s faith was accounted as righteousness! If anything, God would have been Jewish, and indeed, Jesus was born Jewish, but only to save the Jews first because of His covenant with Abraham! Upon their rejection of Him, He then opened it to all! Right again in that God does not love “all!”

I also believe that suicide & all addictions are demons. All demons need to be bound up and cast out just as Jesus did – it applies to today too. I also believe that Christians can be demon-possessed – not in their Spirit, since Jesus lives there, but in their minds & bodies – and that is why most Christians who are sick, cannot recover or lose their healing. Are you a Christian with an addiction – smoking, drinking, drugs, etc. that you cannot recover from? Those are demons. You won’t hear this from pastors – because they have tormented us by telling us to fear the devil. God says to fear only Him! Only GOD has the power to cast us into eternal hell. Nothing else does – not even the devil. If you are a believer in Jesus Christ, you should not only NOT fear the devil, but but he must do as you command – in the name of Jesus! If your church is not practicing deliverance, pack up your bags & stay home. You are not hearing truth. If your church is telling you that God will curse you – if you do not tithe – get out of that church.

If a Christian in Jesus Christ commits suicide, will they enter into heaven? Yes, I do believe they will – their spirit within has been saved but todays doctrine refuses to preach the “entire” gospel in that we are to bind up and cast out demons. For some reason, no one feels demons exist anymore. That’s why addictions & disease still abound.

You say, Christians cannot be demon-possessed? I can prove that we, as Christians, ALL Christians, can be demon-possessed. Here’s proof from Jesus, Himself.

Jesus, looking directly at Peter, and talking directly to Peter, specifically stated to Peter “Get thee behind me, Satan.” Now Jesus knew that Peter was not Satan. But Jesus recognized that Satan had entered into Peter’s mind – and Jesus cast him out.

Matthew 16:23. But he turned, and said unto Peter, Get thee behind me, Satan: thou art an offence unto me: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but those that be of men.

Mark 8:33. But when he had turned about and looked on his disciples, he rebuked Peter, saying, Get thee behind me, Satan: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but the things that be of men.

    • God is not religious! How succinct and TRUE!

God is not fooled by mankind’s futile and vain attempts to placate Him with their religions/religious beliefs of untold numbers and forms including today’s versions of Christianity and most of what has been passed off as His “church” throughout history. All religions are man’s creation and are false substitutes for faith rather than actually having it.

The world is very religious. Even those who proclaim their lack of “faith” have much in common with the religious because most of the religious claiming “faith” are more unfaithful than those who profess agnosticism or atheism and compound their sin by knowing of God’s existence but do not have the personal desire to seek Him. It will be easier for the atheists on Judgment Day than for those who profess knowledge of God’s existence and choose not to actually seek Him than those who claim they cannot know one way or the other, or that God is not.

Acquiring knowledge of Him is often a self imposed substitute in an attempt to assuage guilt. The spirit of every man/woman has the awareness that God is and should be desired above all things, and not desiring Him produces inner guilt which has to be ignored, quenched, covered, or placated. Acquiring knowledge of God is often used to placate ones guilt. The so-called Christian religious often have intense knowledge of the scriptures and often quote them for every occasion or theological/religious discussion/dispute – but have no faith. They are as alienated from God as any Hindu with intense knowledge of the Bhagavad Gita and are exactly like most of the Jewish Pharisees and Sadducee’s that on several occasions confronted and tried to kill Jesus. They had intense knowledge of God but choose to deny Him to His face. The same type of religious hypocrites exist today in Christianity which the world can see as exactly what they are, and use as an excuse for not believing. They fool no one including God.

There is hope for them though. The Apostle Paul was like them in that he also felt justification in murdering many of the truly faithful in an attempt to defend his religion from those who would destroy it. He did so in error based on the knowledge that he had acquired through religious study and in a religious fervor to defend his religion. God intervened by revealing Himself to Paul. Paul – like all chosen of God became the man God created him to be and is the man most responsible for bringing to light what faith is and can do. Paul became the greatest expositor of faith in the world during his lifetime and was responsible for most of the early growth of the true church. How? Paul acquired faith rather than religion.

The world ( in error) refers to someone as having “this faith” or “of that faith.” Muslims, Christians, Jews, Buddhists, Hindus etc. etc. are religious persons that have beliefs – but do not necessarily have faith and generally do not have a clear understanding of what faith actually is. Some do know and choose to substitute their religiosity for it. What these call their “faith” is actually the opposite of it. Various beliefs about gods/God is religion. Religion is not faith. Religious beliefs and the practices associated with religion do not draw one closer to God but actually create a wall of separation between man and God.

The true definition of faith is extremely simple but very difficult for most to understand, desire and obtain. Why? Because they choose not to.

      Faith is believing God.

Believing God is what it is all about and is the only requirement we have from Him for pleasing Him.

    • Alma – You are absolutely correct. God is not religious – in fact I think He hates the hypocrisy of most religious in that they usually substitute their beliefs about Him and are content to acquire knowledge of Him rather than actually seeking to know Him personally. I speak from experience in that once I believed in His existence but did not seek to know Him and even when I did through prayers of repentance and He did reveal Himself to me, I am ashamed to say, I doubted for a long time.. I do believe Him now. I have faith. I trust Him to fulfill His promises.
You are correct about Satan and demons. We that were chosen before God created anything have nothing to fear and they are subject to Jesus’ name. Their greatest achievement is convincing the world that they do not exist. Stealth is a very powerful weapon and they routinely use it.
God is most and all powerful and they have no power except what He allows. They also were created for His purposes even if they do not realise it. God is who we should fear. He has the power to create or destroy and is righteous in all things.

  53. Thank you my brother for your compliment. Some say I am arrogant or too bold but the time is near of our Lord’s return and boldness is required as the world is falling daily into deeper darkness so a stronger light is required of us – so that those that will see can.
God has been so good to me. I do try to be but what He requires out of appreciation to Him for the incredible vastness of His forgiveness to me.I do fail Him on a daily basis but rely on His faithfulness to me to overcome my shortcomings.
The last thing my dad said to me was “to much that is given much is required.” Before I believed Jesus – I thought my dad meant materially and waited on God to bless me materially so I could do great things philanthropically but now I know that since so much forgiveness from God was given to me for my sins then much is required of me spiritually from Him.
My younger brother Tony (54) committed suicide last year after a long struggle with drugs and alcohol prior to a stroke. I have had to rely on God for comfort as I am incredible sad when i think of my brother. I pray that God is as merciful to him as he was to me. i know God is.
Please pray that God may use my words to help others. If only one person is saved from eternal separation from our God by my words then I will not have lived in vain as eternity is forever. All of Christ’s suffer persecution – in fact – if they are not His – they will not – I am ready.

    • Amen to that Brent! Tony

  54. C.Y. I would go one further than Andrew.

We should throw out the baby with the bathwater for it is a bastard child and the water is not only dirty but it is filthy sewer water. The fact is the so called church of today is not Christ’s at all.

    You disagree?

Exactly which denomination did He establish? Not one. None. Which group feels that their dogma is the correct one? They all do.
Is Christ divided? No. His greatest desire for His church is that they would love one another and be one. Did He not pray to His Father for love and oneness in those that were His church shortly before the Last Supper and being taken away to His torment, humiliation, torture, crucifixion, and death?

The fact is He almost begged God for love and oneness in His church in His pre Last Supper prayer. He also executed it as a final instruction to His disciples. It was His final commandment to those He loved most (and those who would believe them) and as important as the ten He wrote with His own finger on tablets of stone which He gave to Moses.

A man facing imminent execution prays for what is most important to Him and tells those he loves what is most important to him – does He not?

Are the multitude of denominations one? Not at all. They are as divided as as a minced onion. Do they love one another? No. They don’t because their actions speak louder and clearer than their insincere words to one another. They cannot agree on anything and have little in common except their desire to control groups of people that choose to follow Christ falsely. they are examples of the blind leading the blind because they prefer blindness. What they obviously do have in common is their claim to be Christs, their greed, and deceptive capabilities.

A tree is known by its fruit. Does a pear tree produce tomatoes? No. Jesus warned of these groups and their leaders who claimed to be His but were false. If they do not bear the fruit of Christ which is oneness and are known for their love for one another then they cannot be His can they?
These churches are not Christ’s and have not been so from the beginning.

They couldn’t be any further from the only truth which is Christ Jesus. Jesus said, ” I am the way – the truth – and the life, no one comes to the Father except by me.” If they were his they would obey Him.

Your example of the technological advances of today have nothing to do with what Andrew Strom is saying. You are missing their spiritual significance and interpreting His words in a worldly fashion which is typical of those claiming to be of the church today. God is a spirit and must be worshiped in spirit and in truth.

Does God change like the weather? No. God changes not. Jesus is the same today as He was from the beginning, the same today, yesterday and forever. What He requires of us today is what He has required of His from the beginning which is faithfulness. Technology over time in the world may change but what God requires of His people never changes.

The fact remains that Jesus sacrifice was for people – individuals – not the so called churches of today whose faith requires buildings, buildings, bildings, programs, schools, training centers, swimming pools – yes – even swimming pools and jet airplanes, limuosines, etc. etc. etc. This is a false church which contain different groups claiming to have found Truth but who have sold their souls to a false Jesus of their own making – one that requires marterial wealth and is of the world. The father of this world is Satan.

You can’t fix what was false and broken from the beginning.

  55. I am sorry to hear about your dad. I don’t know if my dad made it either. One thing is for sure: God is just & only He knows the heart of each. And, God will do as He pleases – whether we like it or not. If I personally do not make His kingdom, then I am sure it will have been my own fault – for despite much studying & worship of God, Jesus & His principles, my heart would somehow have been hardened against the truth. My own fault. Like Peter, we can all vehemently deny Jesus … but repent, and still make it. If even Peter, who, in person, witnessed incredible miracles & performed them himself, how do we compare – except for repentance?

    • I know what you mean but I am encouraged that Peter was a different person after He had received the Holy Spirit. Until the Lord breathed on the Apostles and said, ‘receive the Holy Spirit’, they didn’t have the Holy Spirit indwelling them- that seemed to be the difference. Just read again Peter’s speech to the crowd on the Day of Pentecost (when the Holy Spirit was poured out) and compare this with him denying Jesus – he was a different person! And so are we.As the Church of Jesus Christ, we have the ‘promise of the Father, the Holy Spirit, living within us, and it is Him who convicts us, keeps us, strengthen us and reveals His truths to us. Jesus said, ‘My sheep know my voice’, and ‘no one will snatch them out of my hand’. If you are truly saved, I feel you will know it for sure, and no one will snatch you out of the precious hand of Jesus. Not once you have been chosen by Him, answered His call, repented and received Jesus as Lord. Hallelujah again!!

      • Well said. Those that are Christ’s hear Him and believe what they have heard. Many have heard but stopped up there ears. I was like them for a long time. The Holy Spirit can create anew our spirits – all praise be to God Most High! Those that are His have always been so and alwasl will be, and were loved by Him before the foundation of the world. It is so incredibly awesome that He loved us before He created anything and chose us before we were created not based on what we will do or have done but simply because He is who he is.
I am chief among sinners like our brother Paul but God in His infinite grace and wisdom has chosen to redeem me. He chooses what the world considers foolish to make a mockery of their haughtyness, selfrighteousness, and pride which is to their doom and ultimate humiliation. God sees me. God sees you. Amen.

  56. Well said Alma Martin!! It is very sad but i too believe in the reality that many are not and will not be saved. Only those whose names are written in the Book of Life, who have been chosen by the Lord before the foundation of the world. It is mystery to me and one that hurts because we don’t do anything to earn salvation – it is a gift of God! We will burying my dad on Wednesday. He died peacefully a couple of days ago aged 84 yrs. I was gathered around his bed as died with my family and they were saying things like, ‘you will meet your mum again up there’ and ”he will be at peace now’. My dad was not a Christian and even though I don’t know what may have happened in his final days (ie did the Lord call and save him?), the liklihood is that as he left this world he went into everlasting torment in the next. This is a harsh reality and one that I must just trust the Lord with as He and His judgements are righteous and true. And I will be attending my dad’s funeral next week. It will be a full requiem Roman Catholic mass and the church will be full of my family, all Roman Catholics. They believe that all Roman Catholics go to heaven simply because they were baptised as a child and took part in the other sacraments etc. It is sad but they are just not saved even though they, like the demons, believe that Jesus is the Son of God, the Saviour etc. I did consider not attending as I firmly believe Roman Cathlocism (like all religions by the way!!) to be a deception of Satan but as I believe that there are 2 classes of people in the world, saved and unsaved I will attend, and keep my mouth shut! And it is down to Jesus who He saves! And I will not question Him. For He is Lord of all, my Lord, my Saviour, my God and he chose me! Wow and hallelujah! Love in Jesus, Tony

    • May God Most High Creator of all things give you comfort in your grief and peace about your dad.
I know the grief of losing a loved one and being unsure of their salvation as it can be troubling to ones spirit but be assured that God’s grace, forgiveness and love is greater than all His creation which is everything. Only God knows the inward man and He knew your father before He created Him. Only God knows who is truly His. Our Lord knows and understands sorrow and for those He loves more than anyone May He grant you His steadfastness and peace my brother. Amen.

      • Hey Brent, Thank you for your kind words and thank you for contributing to this Blog. The Lord is certainly using you to say things as they are and you do so far better than me. Love in Jesus, Tony

  57. Anyone who really studies the scriptures can see there are huge deceptions in most all of the churches. Revelations speaks of 7 different churches. Only 2 will make it to heaven. The other 5 – and their congregations WILL be destroyed – and none of those people will make it to the kingdom of God. THAT’s a reality. Salvation is the only key, but many of the churches are preaching deceptive salvation … and many of church-goers are not saved – they are only deceived into thinking they are. It has nothing to do with cell phones or Costco.

  58. I am straying form doing my homework, so I have only a moment to spare. This article really throws out the baby with the bathwater. While there are micro truths in it, this article is slanted.
There are many things today that we consider fine that were not in use back in Jesus’ day. Costco, cell phones, computers, electricity, cars, and careless blogs were not in existence in Jesus’ day.
While none of the concepts that you rail against are perfect, we need to look at what is working, and improve those things. We need to look at what is not in line with scripture, and eliminate those things.
All that is currently found in churches is not wrong. Let’s commit to having integrity, and honestly approach our current belief systems, and change what God asks us to change.

  59. Amen to that Brent! Well said! Love in Jesus

  60. The unsaved will always be so. The saved were chosen by God before the foundation of the world.

Preach the gospel soundly and boldly but make sure what you preach is the true gospel or “good news”.
Jesus Is. Jesus was. Jesus always will be. Jesus was before the foundation of all things. is the end of all things, created all things and loves the “saved” before He created anything. God would that all He created believe in His Son but more importantly believe Jesus.
God has revealed His great love/grace for all through Jesus but hates those that never will come to repentance and faith – because they have chosen not to appreciate and accept the gift above all gifts and that is: His only begotten Son – freely given as an atonement all sin. Yes – God hates – and justly so!

Believing in Jesus’ existence is a given for salvation but is not in itself a means of such. How can someone believe someone if they do not first believe exists?”

“God is – and He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him” – the reward is Himself in the form of Jesus. Jesus is God’s visible and physical manifestation. He is the best physical description of God – who is Spirit.

Believing Jesus is a choice one makes or does not make; and as such is the means of repentance, grace, forgiveness and thus atonement, or eternal damnation and alienation from God. Continued belief and salvation from ones sins is more than simple accepting as fact that that Jesus is the Son of God, who lived, died, and rose again.

    Don’t believe me?

The only sin that cannot be forgiven is unbelief for “Abraham believed God and it was accounted unto him for righteousness.” Jesus said that trhe only sin that could not be forgiven is blasphemy of the Holy Spirit! What do you think blasphemy of the Holy Spirit is if not unbelief? It is not believing God because God is the only Holy Spirit for God is the only one Holy and a Spirit. It does not say “believed in God’s existence but “believed God.”

God is – yes! But even Satan and all the demons believe that as fact.
Simply accepting/believing that Jesus is the Son of God can not save anyone – or Satan and His cohorts would/could be saved. Did they not recognize Him as who He is? In scripture – did they not acknowledge Him as God’s Son and Redeemer of all? Yes – they did and still do.

Why then are they not able to be saved? Better yet, why are so many that name the name of Christ not saved even though they would swear that they are? Jesus himself told of these quoting scripture saying ” Seeing they would not see and hearing they would not hear”, and that many would do many marvelous works in His name but that He would say to them in the Day of Judgment ” Depart from me – I do not know you!”

    What did he mean?
Exactly what He said. He did not know them. They did not seek Him. Many sought out info about Him – but nione of them sought Him personally. He meant that they knew about Him but either choose not to know Him and believe Him, or substituted their knowledge of/about Him for actually knowing/believing/trusting Him. They currently do just as Satan did and are content to choose believing in His existence rather than believing/obeying Him. Their so-called” faith” is not faith in Him but in the teachings about Him.They continue as their forefathers did who are the children of Satan who do not believe Jesus by their own choice – knowing better – but because of their pride – reject Him by substituting their beliefs about Him for actually believing Him out of love and appreciation for it by their obedience to Him.

Why? Because they are not or ever will be His.

If Jesus physically appeared in the church today do you think He would be recognized? or would be received by the majority of the leaders of the Church? or those that presently call themselves His?

I think not! His reception would be just as His reception was when He physically came before where the Jewish leaders, preachers, teachers and the majority of those who loudly proclaimed their love for God – but did not want to know Him when they actually saw Him.

They choose to “believe in” the Christ of their scriptures – who they believe in and teach – about but do not obey, know, or believe.

The Jewish Sanhedrin and the High Priests knew who He was but choose not to believe Him – seeing but choosing to be blind and hearing but but choosing to be deaf. They killed Him because they did not want to see or hear Him.
They- like many of the church today would rather believe in their false god – disguising their false religiosity as faith. Their ‘faith” was/is in a false religion of their own making and not true faith in God. They were/are spiritually bastard sons of their father Abraham. They killed/kill Jesus by choice.

The sons of Satan still exist and re-kill Jesus daily in today’s “church”‘

You say that the Jews did not know who He was?

How could anyone that saw – with their own eyes – Jesus restore a dead man to life – not believe that He is their Messiah – or heal the blind – or lame – or leporsy etc. etc..
They believed in Him but did not believe Him when they actually saw Him with their own eyes because the Messiah of their making was a false Messiah. but did not believe their own eyes when He appeared before them.is existence but choose not to believe Him. The Jews did believe in His existence and are still waiting for Him to come. Why did they miss Him then? They fact is they didn’t.

It would be the same in Jesus’ so called “Church” if He physically appeared today.

    Believing God/Jesus saves you.

Paul said ” for I know in whom I have believed and am persuaded that He is able to keep that which I have committed until Him against that day.” (referring to his own day of death ) Paul – like all that have found faith – not only believed in Jesus existence but was saved because He believed Him. He had true faith. “Without faith it is impossible to please Him.”

    Do you have true faith?

  61. I’m wondering how you explain Hebrews 13:17

Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you

  62. There is some truth to what you say. However, there is much that is incorrect. Yes the tithing is talked about in the old testament. The new testament is not a replacement for the old. it is to expand and clarify. as Jesus said in Matthew” I have not come to destroy the law or the prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill.”. I hope you in the future work toward moving the unsaved to Jesus.

  63. Thye Church is an assembly of people. Beware of false teachers. Most change churches to find a place where they hear want they want to hear. Fact is noone will be with you when you are standing in judgement, so everyone can say what they want…talk is cheap…doing God’s will is not!!

  64. Blessed by your posts, These truths are very liberating and based on the foundation laid by the apostles and prophets. As the Bible says where there is spirit there is liberty.

  65. Yes – the Bible is inspired but remember that Paul was referring to the Holy writings/scriptures of the Jews and did not consider his own letters (ex. 2 Timothy) to his fellow believers as scripture. That is not to say that his own letters/epistles were not inspired but Paul would not have been presumptuous enough to consider his own writings equal to the scriptures he studied, understood, and commented on in order to expound more adequately the divine truths regrading Jesus found only in the Jewish scriptures; but misunderstood by most Jews including Jesus’ own disciples (Apostles) at the time of Paul’s ministry.
Paul’s writings actually were inspired through his own personal relationship with a risen and living Christ. Paul’s love, devotion, and faith in Jesus Christ in whom he believed (as opposed to just believed in- like in the past tense) inspired Paul to write to Timothy among many others.
Paul’s letters were canonized many years later than at the time they were written so when he wrote to Timothy he would not have considered 2 Tim. 16-17 as scripture but as instruction for his disciple.
Fortunately for the church, Paul’s letters were considered inspired by later church leaders who canonized Paul’s epistles as scripture with the end result that the words Paul wrote – which were not scripture – became so because of divine personal revelation/inspiration of which all men of God have received – including Paul.
Without a personal relationship with God/Jesus no inspiration to any man was possible or ever will be.

The Bible is our best source of divinely inspired words about God/Jesus and the best written instructions we have of the path to Him/Them.
In these last days, It has been substituted by many (not all) for the Word of God – who is Jesus Himself – just as knowledge of Jesus is presently substituted by many for actually knowing Him personally.

The only thing one truly needs to walk with the Lord is the Lord Himself – and to personally choose to walk with Him. The Bible was inspired by God to give one knowledge about Him with the hopes that one will desire to personally know Him. God is Jealous.

  66. It seems like around the world people are relying more on books written by men for their walk in the Lord, than the bible. It has been said, Our LORD said don’t lie, man takes that and writes a 300 page book out it.

Some have said, 2 Timothy 3:16-17
    All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness;
that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work.

The Holy Bible has everything in there you need, in your walk in life with the Lord I believe as in 2 Timothy 3:16-17 as been said.

Then they brought up, you(me) uses a dictorary to understand the words in the bible. Is that not written by man, my reply was yes. But it is used in understanding words, not being used in a example of ( do not lie) three simple words God uses, and only man take them three simple words and complicated it to a 300 page book.

Please correct me where I am wrong, but this is what I believe.

    Thank-you
    Love in Christ
    Diana

  67. Yep, thank you Brother.

  68. Ronnie my young brother in Jesus Christ,
If you have the desire to tithe then do so but make sure you are doing so out of your desire to please God rather than an obligatory rite in order to gain His favor. I say this in love because I once felt as you do about the necessity to tithe in order to fulfill my obedience to what is written in the scriptures.
I have since been led to have a more profound understanding through the writings of our brother and Apostle Paul who did nor require any but the biological children of Abraham to keep the old testament Mosaic law and Rabbinic traditions.
Paul only imposed two requirements to believers of Jesus that were not Jews, and those are: keeping oneself from sexual immorality and refraining from eating that which is sacrificed to idols. He taught and convinced Peter and the other disciples of Christ Jesus that all that were Gentile believers were not under bondage to their traditions and laws which even the Jews could not keep.
His inspired and sound reasoning is this – If one commandment of the law is kept then all of the law must be kept which is impossible to do. If only one commandment or part of the law is obeyed (examples- tithing, sabbath keeping, working, washing etc.) then obedience to part is essentially nullified by the inability to keep the rest of the law.
May I suggest a better and easier way to please God. The Law of Faith which is not written words on paper or stone but one of love written in ones heart/spirit by God himself, and as real and easier to keep than those written by God on the tablets given to Moses.
Faith in Jesus requires us to believe Him as well as believe in His existence. We come to Jesus by faith and it is impossible to please Him without it. God has commanded us to believe Him. God said that Jesus is His beloved son in whom He is well pleased. God commanded us to believe Jesus. It is the highest law and when we do all things are possible – Jesus said so. Jesus said that the essence of the law is to love God with everything you have and to love your neighbor as yourself. If you believe His words then you will have fulfilled all the law.Trust Him. Listen to your heart. You have heard His call. You have opened the door. He said He would dwell with you. Believe Him. He is with you..He will guide you if you listen to His voice – in your spirit – with your spiritual ears. He will guide you about all matters. He will write his law on your heart. Obedience is better than sacrifice. Obey God. Listen to His Son. Believe what He says to you. Have Faith. Please Him.

  69. First of all, I want you to know that I’m not arguing but just want to tell my opinion on God’s Tithes, I believe His Tithes are expected.

why do we have Old Testament in our Bible because the Word of God doesn’t change, Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away. (Matthew 24:35) In the old Testament God told us to give to Him, His tithes and trust that He will provide. I see it more as an obedience to what He has given me.

Tithes and offerings are two different things, In Malachi 6 “Will a mere mortal rob God? Yet you rob me. “But you ask, ‘How are we robbing you?’ “In tithes and offerings”. If you observe God says ” tithes and offerings” 2 different words. His tithes, as an obedience and our offerings as a thankful giving. If you observe my words from beginning about the tithes and cheerful (thankful) offering that’s the difference.

Jesus told us to give tithes Matthew 23:23 “Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You give a tenth of your spices—mint, dill and cumin. But you have neglected the more important matters of the law—justice, mercy and faithfulness. You should have practiced the latter, without neglecting the former.” Without neglecting the former(tithe).

Concerning the accepting the Christ in our heart, saying the prayer and asking them to repent, I believe that too, its not preacher changing a persons heart but God, Holy Spirit works in their heart when we share the Gospel and if they accept Christ in their heart then they are saved by Faith. “Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me”. (Revelation 3:20)
and also the thief on cross.
Thanks for the post, I am a new believer so if I’m wrong then I’m sorry.
    Urstruly,
    Ronny.

    • I will gladly tithe 1/10 of my spices mint & cumin. Jesus acknowledged those specific things – I guess that makes it law that we should too.

He never said money, did He?

  70. The law abides in our hearts because we are with Jesus out of mutual desire to be one, rather than have fear of His wrath because our inability to keep His requirements which separated us. We do not fear God anymore because we are no longer enemies, but more importantly we are now aware of His friendship to us in love through Jesus own love for us and the Father. Jesus is our mediator who keeps our friendship alive and renewed when we break His law. The law is no longer written in tablets of stone but in our once hardened hearts which were broken by our repentance and faith just like Moses had, so that we desire the law of God rather than reject it. By desiring to please God in more than words written by Him, we can please Him. The law of our heart is not a sacrifice of appeasement for a covering for our sin like the Mosaic law, but a offering of praise for our mediator and Redeemer who has done so and thus lightens our burdens and is desired rather than despised as a burden to hard to carry. The law has become life rather than death for us thanks be to awesomely loving Father rather than a vengful God as our advesary.

  71. My brother,
Let the false church be – because they are reserved for judgment by our God for their deliberate choice to substitute their beliefs about Him for Him. By so doing they will reap fire upon their own heads because having the spirit of anti-christ they have continued in their forefathers traditions which began in the early days of the true church – that of believing in Christ Jesus’ true existence rather than having the desire to personally believe Jesus – who they do know. They continue the traditions of those that crucified Jesus who tried to destroy Him in order to stop the increase of those who truely do; but to no avail.

The elect of God cannot be deceived and will believe Jesus as opposed to just believing in Him. We are chosen – we did not choose Him – and by being loved by God before the foundation of the world cannot be lost of our own volition. If that were possible then Jesus would have died in vain.

Be like our spiritual brothers the angels of our God in that they did not make a railing accusation against their counterparts who defected and choose the lie rather than our beloved Jesus – the Truth, and Word, and as a result will receive their just punishment in due course. They said only ” the Lord rebuke you” being fearful of the judgment of their God for their pride in being correct about Satan, and those who choose to follow his example. Pride is why all are deceived because they choose themselves over their Creator and God.

Beloved of God continue in your mission of reaching God’s elect with the truth. If they are true sons of God then nothing will stop their faith because the definition of faith is believing Jesus and that they do. Pray that they will be supported by the Holy Spirit in all things. May our God and Father of us and our Lord and Savior Jesus the Great Redeemer bless you and give you peace.
your brother in eternity through true faith in our great God, and His beloved Son Jesus, Brent

  72. 3. Correct Acts does not say pastor. However there is Christian leadership. Lets look at James role.
Council of Jerusalem, Acts 15: 6- to the end of the chapter. (Did James have power over the first “Pope Pety”, I think he did. Do not refer a catholic to this passage it will make them have a bad day

It seems that James was a leader.

    7. Justin Martyr (103-165) Early Church father
This link will take you to one of his early writings and reference to worshiping on Sunday.

    http://www.atsjats.org/publication_file.php?pub_id=70&journal=1&type=pdf

There is actually other evidence that Christians choose Sunday a few years after Christ. It was to be different then the Jews. They had their own false messiah, Simon Bar Kokhba.

  73. Tony, I totally agree with “all” you said. Anyone who reads the New Testament will see that what you say is true. People need to get into the word and ask God for understanding of his word and he will give it to them. I am so grateful that I stumbled on this site as God has opened my eyes to this truth. If a person goes to a church and the pastor is not teaching the doctrine in truth, then the people who sit under that pastor are just as accountable to God as they are supporting him and believing his lies as truth because they do not study the Word themselves to find out if they are being taught the whole truth. I have visited several churches trying to find one that teaches true Doctrine and regretfully have to say, there is not one. Therefore, I am constantly studying the word myself, praying and witnessing to others what is the real truth. God Bless you Tony and continue being bold and speaking out the truth!!!

  74. I agree with the things that are said on this site. However, I would have to say just from viewing myself as a judgmental and hypocritical human being that we tend to despise things in others that we find so difficult to deal with in ourselves. I have yet to meet a person that tells me that they are trying and not willing to change if I ask questions and truly care about their situation. However, if I am in the mood for an arguement all that I have to do is contradict one of their strongly held beliefs and they cling to it like it’s a lifeboat. In being human we are naturally selfish and egocentrical, and it is one thing to put it out there and say that we are tired of seeing it in others, but is it not said that actions speak louder than words? Is there not also a reference to pulling the beam from our own eye before we can see to pull the speck out of our brothers. I have found that when I am most judgmental is when I find the least love and brotherly (sisterly) affection in others. Why? Because we have to be something to welcome it in others. We want others to be a reflection of the good things that we live. I don’t believe that God cares whether we tithe or don’t tithe, whether we love others or don’t love others, whether we worship in a church, our home, or an alley, God is the God of everything in this universe and beyond. However, in his infinite love he wants to see us choose the path that will lead to the least damage to us physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Was it not said that I pray your whole body, soul and spirit are preserved unto the coming of Christ (or something like that)? It is not a question of what God wants us to do, but that he as our loving parent wishes to show us what to do and did so by sending his own son to demonstrate his all encompassing love. We shut ourselves off from that love, because we believe we are unworthy and have so many faults. Well, it’s a lot harder out there drifting around in the ocean without a lifeboat, especially when it’s right there next to us and we refuse to see it. I am so guilty of all these things it makes me laugh. I was actually searching for what God wants me to do. Ironic that I have the answer but am unwilling to accept it in it’s complete simplicity. I love all in our Lord Jesus Christ (my own love, however is sorely lacking and I might not smile at you on the street if I see you, I’ll try though).

  75. Pertaining to old testament law
    Romans 8:1-4
For those of who have a personal Relationship with Christ – By walking in the spirit our relationship should be so genuine that our lifestyle automatically fullfills the laws given to Moses by God the Father.

8:3-4 For what the law could not do in that it was weak through the flesh, God did by sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, on account of sin: He condemned sin in the flesh that the THE RIGHTEOUS REQUIREMENT of the law might be fulfilled in us who do not walk according to the flesh but according the the Spirit.

  76. I like what you have written but I am not fully satisfied, yet. I need to research first.

  77. Just came to your site … i agree with some but not with all you have to say … it seems to me you want to take the whole old Testament out of the bible or pick and choose ( which alot of preachers are doing now a days) in the old testament you have the 10 commandments given to moses … which number 4 is ‘Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.’ … i would like to know what your take on this is?

    • Hi Kalei, Rather than taking the whole Old Testament out of the Bible, or picking and choosing, we have to see that the New Covenant, sealed with the blood of Jesus does negate parts of the Old Testament, in particular the ‘Laws of Moses’. There is a page on the right hand side of my blog entitled, ‘Keeping the Sabbath’, written by David Meyer. I agree with what he has to say. Have a read yourself and check out the scriptures. I do not keep a seventh day sabbath and refrain from any work, rather I keep every days as a Sabbath. You can do whatever you please but we are ‘saved by grace not works’ and keeping a seventh day sabbath can’t save anyone. Love in Jesus, Tony

      • 1 John 3:24 – The one who keeps God’s commands lives in him, and he in them. And this is how we know that he lives in us: We know it by the Spirit he gave us.

John 15:10 – If you keep my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commands and remain in his love.

What do you say are the Father’s commands? Do you follow any or all of the 10 commandments? Do you believe God has done away with some or all of the 10 commandments?

        Matthew 5: 18-20 says:

For truly I tell you, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished. Therefore anyone who sets aside one of the least of these commands and teaches others accordingly will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever practices and teaches these commands will be called great in the kingdom of heaven. For I tell you that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the Pharisees and the teachers of the law, you will certainly not enter the kingdom of heaven.

My understanding of the Sabbath day of rest is Sabbath = 7th day = rest.

When you say we are saved ‘by grace not works’, how do you go about keeping the commandments- “you shall not commit adultry”, “you shall not steal”, “you shall not murder” etc etc. they are all actions just like “the Sabbath day” which follow our love for Jesus.

        Exodus 20:8-10
“Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy. 9 Six days you shall labor and do all your work, 10 but the seventh day is a sabbath to the LORD your God. *On it you shall not do any work*, neither you, nor your son or daughter, nor your male or female servant, nor your animals, nor any foreigner residing in your towns.

        Romans 3:27-31

Where, then, is boasting? It is excluded. Because of what law? The law that requires works? No, because of the law that requires faith. 28 For we maintain that a person is justified by faith apart from the works of the law. 29 Or is God the God of Jews only? Is he not the God of Gentiles too? Yes, of Gentiles too, 30 since there is only one God, who will justify the circumcised by faith and the uncircumcised through that same faith. 31 Do we, then, nullify the law by this faith? Not at all! Rather, we uphold the law.

I believe by the above scripture that the law & the whole of the 10 commandments are still in operation today. I do not believe the old testament is nullified & that we are to only follow the new.

        In Christ—- Angela

  78. Hey brother, it looks like you have got the church stirred up… it is good because everyone is now thinking. I believe that God will make it clear to all those things that they do not understand… didn’t the Apostle Paul say that?

Yes, it is time for a shaking and I agree that this is exactly what God is doing in His body, the church. All of our misconceptions will be shaken.

Also, the enemy is trying desperately to discourage the church.

  79. Dear Rob:

You are truly entitled to your opinion however there is the “Truth” that you will still be held accountable for. When I am void of understanding about something I seek the Lord’s face and ask Him His perspective and wait for His Word of Knowledge or Wisdom on a particular situation. If you are indeed washed in the Precious Blood of the Lamb you will seek His face for answers and be Spirit led into the Truth so that you can share it with others. If you elect NOT to tithe then DO NOT tithe…If you choose not to attend church DO NOT attend church. If you do not believe that it is not the will of the Lord for you to PROSPER then do nothing and do not walk in prosperity. Do what it takes to get by until Jesus returns. Everything you wrote brings about division within the Body of Christ today. Pray! If you possess the power to pray you will pray fervently for those who are doing it wrong or misusing scripture. Anyone (especially teachers of the Word) will be held accountable for misleading others. It is your reasonable service as a Believer to uphold standards set by Christ alone and trust Him to change the hearts of those who are blind and confused. You made things more confusing for someone who is either a new Believer or not yet a Believer. Again, if you truly have the Spirit of God you will seek His face before writing as you did. Having the letter without the Spirit and opening our mouths about things we are fully enlightened about is truly dangerous. Leave those that are doing wrong to the Lord. He knows how to handle them best. He loves each and everyone with a personal Agape love that no one can even begin to fathom. We are no surprise to Him. We are frail beings learning day by day. Leave them to the Lord and pray that they will receive true enlightenment so that they will not be blind. Pause and calmly think of some of the things you wrote. I do not believe the Lord is going to send anyone to an eternal death (which is separation from Him forever) just because they tithed 10%, attended church in a building or asked Jesus into their heart. Prosperity is meant for us to be a blessing to others. As long as you are doing righteous things to further the Kingdom with what you are given I do not believe you will be walking outside of the Will of God…Do you really think such? I understand your point of view however please check with the Lord because it is easy to lead others astray when we are blindsided ourselves. I agree that there is a great deal of ignorance amongst those who claim to be teachers, preachers, etc., however you have an obligation to simply pray. Spiritual bankruptcy in the hearts of man will exist until Jesus returns. Let us do our part by finding out the truth and lovingly sharing it with those who are void of understanding.

    Sincerely,

    In Christ for Real

    • Iron sharpens iron, First of all my name is not Rob, it is Tony. Secondly, Although I agree with the contents of the article on 9 Lies of the Modern Church, I am not the author – it was written by Andrew Strom and I simply reproduce it on my blog. I do not tithe but I do give, ‘cheerfully’ as we are told to in the New Testament! When you say, ‘dont go to church’ it seems that you are writing about a ‘church building’, or a denominational gathering? Church isn’t a building. We, in my household are a church you know!!

You are wrong when you write that, ‘He loves each and everyone with a personal agape love’. There are plenty of scriptures mentioning those people that the Lord hates = Yes hates! You would know this if you knew your Bible! Jesus told us there would be a great falling away didn’t he? He also said frequently, ‘many would be deceived’, didn’t He. He also said through Paul, ‘ferocious wolves would come in and scatter the flock’, and ‘evil men would wax worse and worse’. We are also told to ‘watch and pray’ are we not! Jesus also told us to look at the signs of the times as these would indicate the nearness of His return. You need to see the truth yourself! Evil men have infiltrated the ‘Christian’ church. Look at any programme on the God TV chanels. These ‘pastors’, contantly asking for your money, for the likes of a healing handkerchief or bottle of healing holy water, etc are not speaking out of ignorance! They know exactly what they are doing! They are working for Satan! Yes, that’s right! Research it yourself! Watch their hand signs and listen to their deceptive teachings. They are laughing at their audience! It is the audience at these events/programmes that are being led astray and if we just keep quiet we are just as bad as the false teachers. The Lord does tell us to, ‘come out of Babylon’, and that is the deceived, organised, apostate church spoken of by Jesus Himself. The falling away has occurred! The man of sin will soon be revealed. Meanwhile, people are ‘coming out of Babylon’, as the Lord calls them. The time is short so I have no qualms highlighting deceptive doctrines and doctrines of demons. We are also called to ‘snatch others out of the fire’ – we do that by pointing out error!

How can your ‘righteous things’ further the Kingdom? Come on! Check your Bible. it tells us that. ‘God has appointed a day’ when He will return. You cannot hurry that day! And then when he has dealt with sinful human kind the Kingdom will be set up!

The ‘prosperity gospel’ as preached on God TV is a false doctrine, preached by false teachers and if you can’t see that you need the Lord to take the veil from your eyes. He does prosper people I know! But the prosperity of a true child of God is not based on money – it is the assurance of a blessed future with Him, and an assurance that He is with us now, He will provide for all our needs and that we don not have to worry or strive in this life, as we have the peace of Jesus.

So, please read your Bible for yourself – all of it! And don’t just base your opinions on what the false teachers tell you. If you want to know the truth, you will have to get rid of all you have been ‘taught’, and start again, asking the Holy Spirit to show you.

      Love in Jesus, Tony

  80. What do you mean “I am always suspicious when I hear people describe Jesus as The Christ”.
That is who He is. Yahushuah messiah of Nazareth.
The Son, the second part of the trinity, Yahwey in the flesh.

The bible itself describes Him a messiah.

    • Hey Rob, I know who JESUS is!! I repeat what I wrote above, ‘I am always suspicious when I hear people describe Jesus as The Christ as this title is used by many New Agers, false prophets and satanists – Yes! because they are still seeking another Jesus rather than the Jesus who came in the flesh as a man, and yet was also truly God’.

Check out this from my blog

      http://ajtony.wordpress.com/2008/05/22/the-same-jesus/

      That’s why I am suspicious!

      Love in Jesus, Tony

  81. A hive (church building) without the honey (realization of God) is just a building.
The kingdom of God is within each one of us and one must seek him and find him there. The time has come to return to the original teachings of Jesus the Christ. “Seek ye first the kingdom of God.”
It is good to come together in fellowship and worship of God, we help each other in immense ways by praying together, but each person must make the personal effort to seek God every day, every hour, not just on Sundays. It is possible to have a personal relationship, a personal experience of God if you take the time each day to go within and be alone with Him.
Remember we are loved by God just as much as he loves Jesus or any of the great saints.
We have God now! We are as close to Him now as we ever will be, all we have to do is increase our knowing!
    May God bless you all.

    • What God are you referring to? There is only one true God! God doesn’t love Jesus because Jesus is God. He is not one of the great saints! I think you are a bit mixed up with your understanding of who Jesus is and what He did on the cross. I am always suspicious when I hear people describe Jesus as The Christ as this title is used by many New Agers, false prophets and satanists – Yes! because they are still seeking another Jesus rather than the Jesus who came in the flesh as a man, and yet was also truly God.

‘Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world. Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God: And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.
4Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. They are of the world: therefore speak they of the world, and the world heareth them. We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error. 1 John 4:1-6

  82. Explain to me how you can think that the men jesus called his diciples were not worthy or called to write the bible. The reason they were “qualified” is because Gods son apointed them his diciples. If you think that God choosing you to be his right hand man isnt good enough for you then what is? God is perfect and at any time he felt that his will wasnt being done then he could step in but he didnt. You cant question the qualification of gods diciples. And if you are then what qualifies you to question if the people God choose were the right people. God chooses people of poor backgrounds to make a point. If jesus took a scribe or priest to be his diciples then how does that show God can work in anyone. It doesnt. God choose the fisherman because if you apply it to people today it tell us that jesus can take the drunk and the sex addict because your sins are not what jesus looks at. He has forgiven us all and having said that he can use anyone he wants.

  83. No point of view is totally without merit. The very fact that a person feels a certain way can’t be denied or dismissed, or just quickly “corrected”… There is a story behind every person. There is however some facts and truths that can’t be denied, although even they can be debated highly. I wont get into the thousands of them here, i just want to share one thing irrefutable; Love. It does not matter whether you are fundamental, charismatic, catholic, pentecostal, bible-based, independent, and believe in Old/New testament weightings and principles of tithing etc. If you have not love for a fellow human being, you have nothing. How can we speak about another child of God as though we are so offended by them and their “misrepresentation of God” . God doesn’t need us to play judge of who is best serving God, he needs us to unconditionally love people. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and soul and mind, and Love your neighbour as yourself. Here we are labelling churches, pastors, leaders, sinners as though its our duty to do so ? Plank and spec etc…

So, you may think i’m dismissing character, principles, scripture, etc. I’m not, i’m simply saying don’t even bother getting caught up in things so highly controversial when you can’t even love your brother. Looking for justification for how broken your heart is, or searching the web for posts that condemn the church and its structure, hoping to find some peace in your pain, is not the answer.

Perhaps instead of trying to spin scriptures to justify not contributing to the house of God, and slandering christians and churches everywhere , perhaps instead we should be thinking, Where is the line ? How do i love a vandal, or a bully, or a murderer? Well bingo, THAT’s what you should spend your time working on, because that’s what God wants us to do! Love isn’t selective, it’s not easy, it’s not simply by default “I love you as a christian brother but you hurt me and now must be punished”, it is LOVE GOD AND LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOUR AS YOURSELF

This isn’t an attack on any person or post on this page. I have personally felt every single thing on this page at one point in life with total conviction. But in my tiny pathetic effort to love people which i keep failing at, my life has been turned around and set free in more ways than you can imagine. Like winning a lottery at life. No longer feeling any need to try prove people wrong, or “win” arguments, or be “right”. Criticism does not wound me like it once did. Rejection is not feared, and the Love, Provision, Mercy, and Overflowing Grace and peace from God on my life is something i will never turn on my back on.

I could not go past this without sharing that.

    with love…
    ben

    • The definition of love is not tolerance.
Jesus said; If you love Me, keep My commandments.
Should we as Christians point out error?

      • “The definition of love is not tolerance” & Should we as Christians point out error?
This is correct Scott & yes, we should point out error. As you’ve rightly said with scripture… it’s about loving Jesus 1st, then we love our neighbour as ourselves. If we don’t love ourselves by loving Jesus 1st & learning what He has to show us,… then we can’t love others. We can only give the love that we’ve been given & if we haven’t received the love of God by not living by his commands & principles then whatever we pass on, I believe is null & void. “Love both embraces & disciplines”

        2 Timothy 3:1-5 says:

But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. *And from such people turn away*.

Love does not mean to tolerate whatever goes.. Love will speak the truth, ‘in love’ of course.

Mark 3:25 says And if a house is divided against itself,*that house cannot stand*.

I do not believe the house of God to be exempt from this & a lot of churches are very divided..

Jesus also said: “Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a *sword*. Matthew 10:34

*A sword will kill off some things* not tolerating at all..

As we can all see… love doesn’t mean ‘not’ dealing with what can sometimes be the painful truth & love certainly doesn’t mean to tolerate, which unfortunately is what a lot of churches are doing… turning a blind eye to what’s going on so that no-one changes, no-one grows & no-one’s really being told the truth regarding the Word of God..

        In Christ— Angela.

  84. “Ask Jesus into our heart” is not in the Bible. Neither is “Give your heart to the Lord”, or repeating a “sinner’s prayer”. These practices do not exist in Scripture at all.

    Okay then? According to:
    (Rom 10:9)
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

Anyhow, what’s wrong with giving my heart to the Lord and asking Him for forgiveness.

“Many church members today who are relying on these things are clearly not ‘saved’ at all.”

We are saved by God’s grace. How could you say such a thing?
    See Acts15:11, Mat7:1

I noticed one of your posters said: ” I decided it couldn’t hurt to take a few moments to say a simple prayer… I asked Christ into my life and HE ANSWERED ME ” …
So this guy said a prayer, and ASKED CHRIST INTO HIS LIFE. Surely you cannot be against this!!!!

  85. Mary, Give if you want to! All the article is saying is that Christians are not ‘duty bound’ to give as in the Old testament. In O.T. times people were commanded to pay tithes and offerings, under threat of a curse from God if not given (see Malachi 3:8-9).

Now, our salvation is not based on whether we tithe or not is it? We are saved by the sacrifice and shed blood of Jesus – Hallelujah!

    • And because of that sacrifce we give. Sure state the fact its not your duty but out of all that Jesus is given us is it that hard to give god our time and money and I am not sure if you believe that god blesses us but we also give to god so that he may bless us.

  86. Well…..hmm. If God GAVE His ONE and ONLY child, ought we not give some of ALL we have? this would mean some money, only from a practical philosophy. And, so how, and to who, and for what?

  87. Hi and thanks for sharing your thoughts with us.

First off.. let me introduce myself.. My name’s Rick and I’m a sinner. I don’t say that with pride, but I recognize it as fact.

I’d like to share with you my story…. I’ve been slam-dunked with with the Bible and “Church” and all sorts of dire threats about my “future in Hell” since I was a little kid. My parents spent every weekend visiting various churches and denominations in their efforts to find Christ and dragged us kids with them. To them it was a search for knowledge and spiritual awareness… To me it was a sinister and pathetic sham that I met in almost every church we went to.

I believed there was a God… and I was afraid of him! The bible told me he was kind and gentle, but the preachers and pastors of the churches told me he was a vengeful and angry God and that he would smite me and send me to the pits of hell if I didn’t conform to their interpretation of what God wanted from me.

My parents even sent me to a Pentecostal bible college retreat over the school holidays once and I was forced (yes forced) to talk in tongues or I wouldn’t be allowed out to play with the other kids. I was told to repeat the word hallelujah over and over again faster and faster until the Lord took control of my voice and I would then speak in tongues… forgive my bluntness here… but at that moment in time, I made up my mind that this was all bull$#%!

Needless to say … I grew up wary and antagonistic towards Churches and religion in general. I married a wonderful christian girl and had many a drunken & stoned argument with her about how she was being “duped” by religion. I hated the very thought of church and felt that they were more political than moral… In fact I fought against believing the Bible & being loved by God in every way imaginable for most of my life….

But do you know what? Only a few weeks ago (and I have no idea where the thought came from).. I thought to myself “What if I’m wrong?” … I decided it couldn’t hurt to take a few moments to say a simple prayer (something I’d never bothered with before) Totally out of character for me, I asked Christ into my life and HE ANSWERED ME… I woke up the next day and just KNEW Christ was with me….. I was a mess… I cried and laughed and didn’t know what was happening to me… I’d never known joy in Christ before and it was totally overwhelming.

I can’t in all honesty say that my opinions of churches have changed at all… There’s too much politics involved from what I’ve seen and experienced… and I’m a newcomer to Christ and I’m still quite clumsy in my prayers… But you know what? … I feel better now than I have for my entire (50yr) life and am certain that the Lord will show me the way.

The point of all this? … Just to let any of your readers know that Christ is just around the corner and it doesn’t take much to let him in.

    signed …. Newbie :)

    • WOW! I just had to comment that it proves what a wonderful GOD we serve! No matter how much we hate or despise HIM, HE still chases after us, knowing that if we’ll just reach out, we’ll get it! You got it! Praise GOD! I thank my savior for your testimony and may you be used to bring others (who think there’s no way home) to JESUS! You have inspired my tired heart to keep going…

    • Hey Rick,

Congratulations and keep in the faith! Always remember how you got there- Grace through faith -and not by works (i.e not by legalisitic following of the Law!- Also avoid Calvinism and unconditional election!)Thanks for your encouraging post- my wife is not a Christian but with everyone’s prayers (and yours too, please!) I’m confident she soon will be!

You, Tony and Andrew are absolutely correct about the pentacostal church -full of false doctrines. The RC is the same, including the New Agers, Alpha, Charismatics, Vine/Toronto blessing etc. So take care and keep praying. If you don’t feel right in a particular church, check their teaching against the Bible. If they are wrong- point it out. If they don’t change, dump it. Remember, two or three people praying together in their own homes consitutes a church also!

God (Jesus) is both merciful and vengeful- depends on who He is dealing with- to say that he is only one or the other is only part of the truth .

Jesus bless you and yours, and everyone who’s posted

      Shailin

  88. Very inspirational, very eye-opening and overtly true. I now have a reason to read the bible and understand it, not just for the sake. God bless you.

  89. I just left a message on this broad earlier but I guess I didn’t read further. First how can you say your speaking for Christ in an angry tone Christ is love that is undeniable. So to say that you understand what Christ would want for his people you would first have to come in love. We aren’t suppose to argue the word either. The word says that we are to study to show ourselves approved. So if we just simply go back to basics we should be alright. One thing that we all should keep in mind is that we all love Jesus how can we go wrong if we put Christ first as instructed in the word. please fellow Christians lets find more ways to love each other and less ways to criticize

    • Jesus said; If you Love Me keep My commands.

  90. I appreciate you for thinking and making it known before others. So many people are thinking in the same way after the keen Bible studies. We also need to put the Biblical alternatives to face the needs due to the withdrawal of many of these practices…

    May God bless you…

  91. I agree to some extent with your opinions… because that is what they are. Everyone has one. Particularly, when it comes to using either fear or the promise of some great slot machine return for tithing. I also agree about the need for koinea and the lack thereof in the modern church. So difficult to find intimacy in the modern church with others. Jesus is not into superficial relationships. If the church cannot adjust to providing real koinea and allowing the Holy Spirit to move, I believe we will see more of a move to home churches with more followers and servants than leaders.

  92. Very good insight!! Thank you for caring enough to share it with us!!

  93. Carol, there is no ‘new’ and’old’ church, just the one! It’s the church of Jesus Christ where He is the head, not a man, pastor or church council.

  94. can we just pray about the whole thing, none of us are the wiser, we need the Master to tell us what is right, and how to improve on what is bad. I too share the misgivings in todays church, but I also have misgivings with the old church. May Him who knows best show us the light

  95. Wow, I found you completely by accident….amen!

  96. I agree with a lot that Andrew has to say- actually all he has to say however, There seems to be an angry tone to these articles which is not necessary especially considering that we are trying to reach a group of people that do want to know the truth so we may serve God as he would like us to. It puts me off a little and makes me wonder if i am reading a reliable source- Anger comes across to those who are more perceptive- Like myself. I do however walk away knowing more than I did before I read this. It confirmed some of my perspectives and beliefs. Thank you Andrew. Jenowade Lewis

  97. That’s how I feel, that I want to leave the Church, because none I have found teach about God.

They have lots of over-amplified Worship, lots of classes to attend and various ministries to join. They draw huge multi-million dollar loans to improve and expand their buildings. They teach that they want the Church to look so good that people come pouring in to give themselves (and their money) to God’s work.

But they don’t say to go out of the Church and show God’s love. They don’t say to love those who hate us, as Jesus did. They don’t tell us to give to the needy, instead they say to give to the Church.

They say they want change, they want revival, they want God’s people to “wake up”. Then they keep teaching the same old things, year after year.

I try to talk with them, but on the rare occasion when they listen to me, they argue. I’m supposed to just blindly accept and agree with everything the Church says without question.

But I want to live the life God called me to. I want to lead a life that says, “Here is I AM, reaching out for you, take His hand!”, so that no one says “Where is God and why doesn’t He do something?”.

  98. Hi Andrew,

I was just surfing online when I saw your insights about the church. I was wondering if you still have the same position about it ? What you say is really sad, there is some truth in it. The truth associated with it is just due to the fact that we are human beings, and we will never be perfect.

But I am surprised that you have so much of “disatisfaction” with the church, which a very strong social structure and there is nothing wrong i think to build churches!! The apostles used to gather somewhere. And what is wrong with having 1000 people gathered in one place worshipping and enjoying the presence of the Lord? Church leaders are also human beings, they can make mistakes, and they always makes mistakes, like me and you and anyone else. Our role is to pray for them for wisdom. You might have had bad experience at church with leaders or priests or whatsover. I hope whatever anger you had one day is gone now. It is important not be judgemental especially in the church!!
Theref is nothing wrong preaching about a mercyful God rather than an angry and furious one. People need to know the real God, not the ones who hunts them with a sword !! The Lord says that His heart towards us is mercy. So why not enjoying this?

    In Christ

  99. It is good to see that there are other believers in this world that have seen the deception in the church for what it truly is. Keep speaking the truth! I pray that God will use your voice to spark reformation in those who have been deceived so that they shall repent.

  100. Great post, thanks for being a mouthpiece for God.

Jesus said we are take up our CROSS and we are PROMISED TRIBULATION and PERSECUTION in this world. And that the world will HATE us because it hated Jesus first.

Does that sound like the prosperity preachers today? Does that sound like the preachers who stand up on a stage preaching quietism and ignornism and cowardism?

    NO!

First clue, is the stage. No man should be on a stage, especially when folks are gathering to talk and worship Jesus. If it’s a class, fine, but for praise? GET OFF THE STAGE PREACHERS.

My opinion as an Ex-Hollywood person.

  101. Hi Lynn, You said it yourself!

‘Where two or more are gathered in his name, he is in the midst of them. Amen.’

You and your husband are two and therefore a church. I would start with each other and pray for the Lord to send you those He would send.

    Love in Jesus, Tony

  102. How do you suggest we start changing things? I live in Manchester, NH, a small city in the USA. We are “lower middle class,” live in a crowded, older section of the city where almost all of the buildings are multi family homes. It is no old Jerusalem. People don’t go into the streets. I am disabled and housebound, and don’t know anyone in this area. My husband and I live alone, and he pretty much just stays home with me. We can’t go to church because I am too sick. When I was well, the type of church you speak of would have sounded very enticing to me. I would love to have some people to my house just for prayer! Where two or more are gathered in his name, he is in the midst of them. Amen.

    • Hi Lynn,
I live about 40 minutes away from you. My husband and I would be happy to come and visit you !!!!
Let me know and we will meet!!!

      Be blessed,
      Yelena.

  103. Stacy, If you want to tithe then that’s fine but the Bible does tell us that we are not duty bound to tithe. We are called to give cheerfully, whatever we can afford to give, and not necessarily to a church, but to the poor, widows, orphans etc.

In O.T. times people were commanded to pay tithes and offerings, under threat of a curse from God if not given (see Malachi 3:8-9).

Many present day church leaders use these and other O.T. verses to ‘persuade’ members to tithe but it really must be remembered that the verses in Malachi 3 are not meant for New Covenant Christians – they are spoken to Jewish believers who were under Mosaic law, from which Jesus has set Christians free.

‘Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.’ Galatians 5:1

Jesus became a curse for us so that we were not cursed. He delivered us from the Law – all of it!!

‘Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, CURSED IS EVERY ONE THAT HANGETH ON A TREE.’ Galatians 3:13

‘Then said he, Lo I come to do thy will, O God. He taketh away the first, that he may establish the second. By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.’ Hebrews 10:9-10

Hallelujah! The blood of Jesus shed under the New Covenant nullifies the Law of Moses and sets us free!

It has been estimated that as much as 80% of all tithes and offerings in some churches are used to pay for buildings and salaries.

In contrast to the O.T. system of tithes and offerings, paying salaries etc., Paul laboured with his own hands and, ‘coveted no man’s silver, or gold, or apparel.’ Acts 20:33

All of this does not mean that we are not to give in the N.T. church. Acts 2:45 shows that believers sold their possessions to help the needy, and we are told to give cheerfully, whatever we purpose in our hearts to give. (2 Cor. 9:7) for the want of the saints (2 Cor. 9:12) and the poor.

So, give cheerfully, but do not be duty bound to tithe 10% of your income to a church – it definitely is not Biblical. Love in Jesus, Tony

    • It is True we are not under the ‘curse’ of Law for sure, but the Law is still abiding. I am not trying to justify tithing, I am talking only about the Law of God. For the Law is called the Law of Liberty! It leads us to Christ, and is a mirror for examining ourselves, and so the Law is still abiding.

  104. I do not find total truth in the things you say. It concerns me when “Christians” pick and choose only parts of the bible to believe. Where titheing is concerned, why do you think the old testament no longer applies? So you choose to believe the new testament but not the old, what in God’s word tells you that is ok?

    • Hebrews 8:6-13 (King James Version)

6But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises.

7For if that first covenant had been faultless, then should no place have been sought for the second.

8For finding fault with them, he saith, Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah:

9Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they continued not in my covenant, and I regarded them not, saith the Lord.

10For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people:

11And they shall not teach every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know me, from the least to the greatest.

12For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.

13In that he saith, A new covenant, he hath made the first old. Now that which decayeth and waxeth old is ready to vanish away.

    • Because if it applied, then why aren’t you sacrificing animals on a burnt altar?

    • Stacy. With your reasoning Christians (believers of Christ) should also become Jews. You write about some not believing the O.T. because they pick and choose what to follow and do not follow its commandments but you are guilty of what you condemn others for in that you obviously could not feel that it would be appropriate for an adulterer to be stoned to death – do you?
The Apostle Paul – a devout Jew and scholar of the Old Testament and keeper of the Mosaic Law and traditions, with intense understanding of all O.T. scripture including the Prophets was inspired to teach even Peter and the other Apostles a clearer understanding of what it means to be faithful to Christ – which they accepted as truth. The only requirement you have to please God is to have faith in His Son and that means believing Jesus as opposed to believing in His past existence and simply accepting that He was. Jesus is. Presently. Believe Him presently.

  105. I love your site! :)
